Hello everyone!

I am fairly new to SEO & Affiliate Marketing. Thought i knew enough about link building & where to start but after doing some competition researching and using the tool ahrefs to sniff out where my competitors are getting their backlinks I have stumbled upon so much information that i am now confused on where to start and where my next wise move would be with my site.

My site is about a month old, it will be an authority site in a difficult niche. I have managed to create about 30 articles ( 2k+ words) so far. 30 more in the making.

Can any of you seo's give me some advice on what my next wise move should be? I have sort of gotten confused somehow on how to go about building links to all my articles. Start with web 2.0's (10-20) and then reach out and purchase some authority links on bigger sites? Should i build up like 4-5 web 2.0s to be authority web 2's and link out to my money site every 2nd or so article i post on there?

Thanks!

If the niche is difficult then web 20s wont help you much. Maybe for low competition long tail keywords but not much for overall organic rankings. Also you will have to post unique content in all these properties as spun content won't help you (since it's a difficult niche). Now if you are willing to write unique why bother with web 20s? Go with guest posts in related or same niche. You will find a list of some 1000+ guest post blogs on this forum. Write 10 1500-2000 word articles and ask bloggers to post it. Over few months time you will gain a lot more than what these web 20s can provide you.

Do you have your base foundation links built? Start there.

What do I mean by base foundation links? Your social profiles, web2s for syndication, forum profiles. All the links a true authority site will have, don't just make them, but truly baby them. Be active to the relevant properties, but make a profile on all properties. Share content unique to that property, I'll post plr articles on my social profiles and web2s, no links, just an article, makes it seem special for your followers.

While building your base links, start building some "authority" web2s, but don't go crazy here, I usually build up about 10. I'll usually aim to get them ranking for some super low, no comp search terms. No links right now. Wait for these properties to age up a bit. I'll usually buy backlinks to these properties, before I even link out, nothing crazy, just a blast of 100 web2s each, maybe some cheap af pbn posts.

Once you finish up your branded, base links, use the authority web2s on your homepage.

Now, as this ages, you can start building better links, like quality guest posts(real sites, not PBNs posing as a guest post like many here). When I am building a site for the long term, I don't build PBNs, as I want my authority site to grow organically, long-term. Any authority site build I aim for is a minimum of a 2yr build.

If you're new, as you stated, a high competition authority site will be hard for you. But not impossible, just build it slow, aim for low competition keywords first, get some rankings, then move on to medium comp keywords, get rankings, move up and on.

Web 2.0s are very weak. As the other guy said, you'd be better off putting the effort into getting guest posts.

Hey thank you, as this was very very helpful. Your response did strike a few questions in my mind, if you don’t mind me picking your brain a bit. I’m trying my best to get the grasp of every aspect of this SEO stuff.

You mention the base foundation links as social media profiles, web 2’s, and forum profiles. I think i’ve got what your saying. So to go about starting to get my base links built, after I post an article on my site, I should post a link to that article across all my social media accounts, and then head to the forums and get a few link drops(with value) in there as well, correct? I should probably know the anwer to this one, but, I guess my overhanging question is should I be building base links to every article on my site from all social accounts, web2’s and forums?

As for the web 2’s, if I get 30-40 of them to start off, you suggest to start building up about 10 of these and use the others just for single article web2’s with links to my money site, correct?

To build these up it should look like this: post articles on them every few days for a while (how long should I let these age?), hit them with some web2 links, then throw a link to my site homepage or an article on my site, in an article every so often - is this how you would do it?

Also question regarding those pbns, if purchasing quality, would you risk sending them to my authority web2’s that link to my money site, or just staying completely away from pbns?

Thank you.

Focus on one method then go to the other one.

I would say I like in the beginning as someone said above to create original Web 2.0s (targeting no comp. Words) and then powering it with Public Networks.. these Web 2.0s will start to rank for at least top 10 in these 0 comp. Keywords related to my niche.

At this point I forward a backlink from the Web 2.0 to my article.

If it's an easy keyword it will rank Top 3
Medium keyword Top 10 with no doubt
Difficult keyword, Will make it appear in Page 2 and then I go for the next level PBNs & Expired Web 2.0s

I don't believe in Whitehat shit.. We need to rank and bank, Rinse and repeat. Because you'll not create the multi-million authority site with your own.

This is something that i have been very devoted to. Being in a difficult niche, my content has to be engaging. Blessed to have a superstar of a writer.

You syndicate snippets of your articles to your syndication network, do NOT spam a link to every article everywhere, that is what quality interlinking on an authority site is for.
Your base links are to not just get links, as some will be no-follow. Besides just being a backlink they are also good for traffic, as you develop real followers.

I let them age anywhere from 30 days to 3 months, just depends on the relevancy to the article posted on my money site.

I only buy cheapy pbn posts to my web2s, never do I buy any pbn post directly to my money site.

Okay, got it. huge help, thank you.

Another quick question for ya:

I have about 30 articles posted so far, only about 15 are showing up in google (site:mysite.com) at this point. With my site being at a month old and google only having indexed a portion of my articles, would you wait for my site to age, and get more content up before building links or would you go ahead and start off building the base links right away?

Again, thanks for your help.

I would start building your base links now, when I am doing a project launch, I build baselinks as soon as I decide to start building a site.
Buy the site and as wordpress is setting up, I might build out a property.
As I wait for my logo to come in, build a property.
As I wait for content to be delivered, build a couple.
By the time my first post goes live on the site, all my base links are live.

Grnated, I outsource it now and when I order the domain, content, and logo, I hit up my guy to build out my properties and setup IFTTT for the possible sites.

No way! where do you find connects like this to build out your properties and IFTTT's? Literally took me a month of wasted articles and constant outreach to finally come across a skilled writer

okay, got it.
I Just built out properties on all socials, along with scoopit, disqus and a few others. Are there any IFTTT properties you recommend? I would love to know which ones you are using if ya don't mind. Trying to manage all these social accounts and other properties seems to be a time consuming task. I was thinking maybe sign up with buffer or hootsuite and spend a day scheduling out my articles to be posted on all accounts along with some other no link value post in between.

spiked another question.. have you ever used a service like outreachkings? was doing some digging and came across them, they apparently sell quality links on real sites, (no pbns) in package deals, as well as guest post? would this be something i could purchase for my money site as this is still pretty much considered whitish hat?

thank you!!!!!
