Hi community,

I'm basically running a digital business selling online courses in the Wellness Niche. I do feel the need to diversify as the compitition is extremely high with no entry barrier.

I understand that I need to put in a lot of upfront work for an year or so before I expect the time involvement to go down. I did the same for the first business too.

I am confused whether influencer work is better or if I should make a website and focus on affiliate programs.

I feel like influencership is more of a hit or miss since algorithms can do all kinds of crap stuff. However, I kinda have a feeling that fashion is more my forte and hobby too.

Otoh, I believe you can learn anything when it's about career. So yeah, affiliate marketing would most likely be something I'd learn to do, love and make income from.

I'm really sorry if it's not the right question for this forum.

Assuming you choose the right ones...

Influencers typically give you a 1x unsustainable customer boost.
Affiliates give you a long term sustainable customer pipeline.

I grow all my own businesses with affiliates, but it is difficult to start an unproven business with affiliates.

Noted, i too agree that affiliate programs are better for a business since you only pay when a sale is generated.

However, my question was regarding me starting a second business. Would you suggest affiliate marketing over influencer work for someone starting a second business from scratch?

As i said it is difficult to get good affiliates with an unproven business.

So, first you have to prove your business works and the products you are asking affiliates to market, actually sell.

The right influencers can get you that proof of concept.

affiliate i would say
Thanks,

My question is not if I should use the services of affiliates or influencers.

I'm not asking how to promote my current products.

My question is that if one starts from scratch, would they have a better income potential as an influencer or as an affiliate marketer.

I'm asking since I'd like to have one more income source and wanted to decide which route will be better.
