im wondering which helps seo better. do indexed pages really have any bearing at all? is it more about having a bunch of backlinks instead of indexed pages?
do indexed pages really have any bearing at all?
if your pages are not indexed then no human can find them.
is it more about having a bunch of backlinks instead of indexed pages?
You want both..
how does quality content automatically get backlinks?
A person might read it and then point a link to your post/page/site...or...more the case..you throw up unique content and get the backlinks yourself..
also, does going to a blog and making a comment and posting your website like on there count as a backlink?
Sure..but is the blog a no follow/do follow page.
I have found that if you embed links into the sites actual page, like a blogroll etc...over time.. the pages/links are counted as multiple backlinks..more pages..more backlinks..from the same site..the guy that threw out a large site..if it had pr value for instance..could have used it for massive link juice by using links in the template and pointed it too sites..
Indexed pages count yes but remember that its not just indexed. Check if pages are in the Goog supplementary index. The "its not that important" section that the big G has. And guess what, if no one is visiting those pages you are likely already there. This is important stuff here to know.
