    Fellow marketers,

Recently I'm seeing many domains have high PR (PR 7, PR 6). They are just one or two months old. And they are PR 6 PR 7.

They barely have any back links. I know they got their PR from 301 redirection. My question is, do this PR drop immediately after stopping redirection? Does the redirected domain loose its PR?

I'd really appreciate if someone has experience in this can share their knowledge..

301 redirection is not a sustainable way to create PR in my opinion.

Also, isn't pagerank directed to the given page and not the overall domain?

Most tools don't do a good job of catching fake pageranks. Here is the method that works on almost all occasions.

    Take a guess
It's a fact. As it will not create real PR for that page nor will it sustain the fake PR after the redirect is removed.

The definition of a fake PR is when it's created utilizing a 301 redirect from a PR x domain or page. Last time I checked at least. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

EDIT: I still don't get why it got that PR though..

Within a very short amount of time that PR will disappear. Often within a few weeks.

That's why its important that if you are buying websites strictly for PR that you take a deep hard look at the backlinks.

I've had people blatantly try and scam me with FAKE PR using a ton of sneaky methods.

    Always dig deeper.
