On this blogs link it says blogs increase spider visits. How so? How do you structure your main site and sub-blogs so that the blogs really support your site. Dont you need more sites/blogs to support your sub-blogs?

There is certainly a line of thinking that says by blogging every other day you can train the spiders to visit your site. It is also felt that by blogging every business day you will bring them back to your site more often, and also by blogging on the day you expect a spider visit (if you know when the visits have come before, you can usually judge when the next visit will come). As well as that, blogs are hugely link friendly, so that makes them more attractive to spiders.

Train spiders? You tell them exactly when to visit in sitemap. It isn't magic.

OP, spiders look for unique content, so that's why. Blogs usually have sitemaps with a pretty frequent crawl schedule.

Main site and sub-blogs support each other by linking to each other..
