I have seen that I can see good viewership if I upload shorts. But as soon as I start posting long videos there, the viewership drops. What are some niches where this drop will not happen? It should be easier to bank upon the visibility of shorts and I am looking for such short niche ideas that can be later migrated to logn videos.

Shorts are good for growth but bad for monetization. For Long form content Is the other way around. I'd go with long form and slice It to make shorter videos.but My own advice is to do both. We run two live streams a week and I make 6-10 shorts from the streams. This gives the channel content and shorts. It has been working for us so far this yea

Which niche?

Every channel has been given a limit or threshold by YouTube's algorithm regarding the total number of views a channel can get in total for a period in time. This threshold can only be increased by the YT algo, and it will be based on the content quality of the channel, the consistency with regards to posting and so on.

No one can maneuver around this threshold. If you post content on all 3 formats (videos, shorts and live streams), the views set for your channel will be split pro-rata between these 3 forms. If you post through only one format, for example, videos, you will get all your views on videos and so on.

The thing you are currently facing is normal and I have seen this happen multiple times in my experience. It will take some time for the shorts audience you have built to convert into the long format you are aiming for, and you will get no push from YT's algo because it is currently in the monitoring phase for you channel. I would also recommend to continue going ahead with this, because you would rather get all your threshold views on the highest earning format, which is videos.

Hope this helped. Best of luck!!!
