    Hello,

"how long is a piece of string?"

So this is about as "subjective" as one can get i think but in S.E.O. terms what would you class as really easy to obtain page one rankings? Is there a number or some "gauge" i am looking for?

    Thx

I think a lot of people have their own indicators and numbers for them when they consider a keyword to be 'easy'.. Most look at intitle and inurl to see how big competion is.
For me the important indicator is how many backlinks the competitors ranking page has. If not much that it is relatively easy to rank for that keyword, eventhough the domain of competitor is old and lots of backlinks and high pr..

Page one rankings are, for all intents and purposes, useless. It's #1 rankings that you want. And the competitiveness of a keyword is simply how strong the #1 ranking site is for that particular keyword.

Page Authority and Linking IPs tend to be a good proxy for the competitiveness of a webpage.

Any easy keyword/keywords are plentiful, however finding the same with high search results (that is another subject) and little quality competition on the 1st page.

You find a keyword with good search volumn and work through the top 10 results. It is pretty easy to quickly if the keyword in question has strong competition i.e. Page Rank,Backlinks quality,Authority etc.

You can establish very quickly if you have any chance of hitting the top spots.

    Good luck

Easy & difficult dont look at that! Choose a difficult keyword & rank it with powerful links!
    That's the game!
