Today has to be one of the lowest parts of my life up to this point. My bank account which was thriving a year ago is now quite different, I am back in my small hometown living with my parents (I used to be in LA), I am recently single, and friends who I would have hung out with in the past are now in college or moved away.

I am very thankful for my friends and family and what I have now but damn this is a big change from a year ago and it's hard...

I'm only in my early 20s and I know things will get better but at this moment I could definitely use some inspiration from those who were down and got back up :)

You're still young and have plenty of time to rebound. A member @splishsplash wrote a thread I think that might help you here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/h...-2023-for-real-only-thing-that-works.1448868/

You are still young and without too many obligations (your own family, kids, debts, and so on). So this is a benefit, use it wisely.

In your case, I will try to find a 9-to-5 job IRL, raise a budget (let's say a few grands). Meanwhile, I will try to find a niche, learn anything about it, and after I'll have a $10k-$15k, I would start a passive website, based on what I learned. Time span for this: 6-12 months - and Yes: You can make it.

You can learn a lot from these threads:
The newbie guide: https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/newbie-guide.242/
A compilation of helpful threads for beginners: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/searching-made-easy-master-list-of-all-newbie-guide-threads.1389081/

Another (this time, smaller) compilation: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/seo-where-to-begin-as-a-newbie.1106210/#post-11916701

After a while, when you accommodate, check this one: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/guide-tutorials-a-short-beginners-guide-to-blackhat-seo.1134018/

Good luck!

I definitely want to use this "down time" to start building back, I really appreciate it :)

Hunter, mark my words: The only enemy in this world is you. But, when you have the opportunity, do and create goood for others. In rest, forehead up.

Write down small goals and build momentum
As someone suggested earlier, a day job should be your priority atm
