    Hi all.

I've dealt with my poor teeth nearly all my life because I was never insured, and recently 2 really bad cavities opened up, and my mouth has been in severe pain. I have several cavities, but these 2 need to be addressed as soon as humanly possible.

I have a friend who is willing to help me with the cost of repairing my mouth, and now we're just trying to figure out the most optimal way to do this.

I currently live in North Jersey, but I can go anywhere if I really needed to. I saw some posts from years ago that said people went out to Canada or even the Netherlands to have their teeth repaired.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Dental schools will provide very cheap/free services. You get your teeth repaired and the students get hands on training.

Have you tried going to a college dentistry school as they tend to be cheaper. I looked up one and its Rutgers. Now, I did look at the reviews so its a hit or miss so just be cautious. Hope this information can help.

+1 for Snarky's remarks. My mum was in the same boat and has just finished 6 months work of extensive dental treatment including root canal treatments, caps and crowns worth over $30,000, but had an O/S trained qualified dentist perform the work for her - cost to her $0.00. The dentist has to complete a certain amount of work before his qualification are recognised in Australia - I'm sure it's the same in many other countries.
Since you only need fillings, it shouldn't be hard to find someone who needs to complete their training to di it for free/cost or at least reduced cost.

I would agree with the majority here. You might want to have your dental problems done somewhere cheaper. Preferably in dentistry schools, some schools even offer free services :)

Why are you not on obamacare? If your face gets swollen, go to the emergency room. You can die from a mouth infection if it travels to your brain.

Could you try to get dental insurance now and then get the surgery next month? When I was looking for some dental insurance it was a 30 day wait I think.

All dental insurance providers I called said I had to wait 1 year before getting any work done.

Everyone and their sister, brother would get insurance for a month... get their teeth fixed and insurance would go broke. So I'd be really curious to know how any insurance company can afford to operate like that.

I was facing a similar position last year. I didn't have dental insurance (now I do) and I had a cracked front tooth and broken cavity. Both of which were causing sinister pain. I hate dentists, did not want to go to one cause I knew it was gonna cost a good dollar. I saw a jewish dentist my brother sees and she did a clean up and some free xrays then wrote me an estimate for $6,400. This bitch had the nerve to whisper in my ear, "the MOST I ever give clients is a 10% discount, I may give 5, 15% discounts a year and this is what I'm giving to you (as she points to the estimate) >>> "20% OFF!".

I was like, wait.... this is the cost AFTER 20% off?

She was like, "yes, I almost never do this".

I was sitting there just thinking.... "what a lying, seething, money hungry, greedy fucking whore". I needed 1 cracked tooth fixed, a cavity refilled and a custom sleeping guard for my mouth since I grind my teeth at night and chew them down like a wearwolf. I've always wondered why I developed sharp canine teeth on my bottom teeth but now it makes sense. Plus my jaw is sore as hell every morning when I wake up and I never realized why. In my dreams, for some weird reason I just chew chew chew.

Anyway, long story short I went on a dentist calling spree. Even called Rutgers Dental School of Medicine. But Rutgers was a fucking mess. I had to wait over 3 hours just to see the dentist. And they don't do it like normal dentists. You have to come back multiple times and I did not want to drive back to Rutgers over and over and over.

So I just went with an older, male, local dentist who quoted the work at $3,600. I liked him the most caused he sounded the smartest and seemed like an honest guy.

With that said, if you are in any type of pain and need time to get your shit in order / make calls / get estimates... do this. Go online and type in "buy fishmox". Fishmox is 100% pure amoxycillin. It's completely legal to buy. And although it says "not for human consumption" they come from the same exact labs that make human antibiotics. Antibiotics are one of the most profitable medicines in the world. And the dentist I saw was a bitch. She gave me 7 fucking pills and after day 9 I was in worse pain than before. I was popping 4 ibuprofen at once with no effect. She shorted my supply just to manipulate / control me so I'd be in pain again real fast and more likely to come back to see here. That's when I went online and FEDEXd the fishmox to my house. I would take just a tiny bit every other day and it was enough to keep the pain at bay. It also gave me time to think logically and make a smart decision.

    Good luck,

    -BB

Hungary is one of the best places, they are a fraction of what it costs in the states for the same surgery. I'll probably end up going there soon for some recedding surgery and some veeners If I don't go to one in BG after moving.

The expats living like me in Thailand often go to India. I just heard good things.
But I thing some dentist student program, would be the best solution.

you'll get a clean root canal. Although, I can't tell about the prothesis.

Cant afford dental care and people are telling OP to come to europe, uk, france, etc, How is OP gunna get there with no money?

Cant help you personally but the college idea is worth a shot. I had a bad tooth last month and the pain was so intense i was losing my mind. Turned out to be an abscess, you do not want one of those believe me. So get yourself to the nearest dental school soon as you can.
