INTRODUCTION: I have been making money online since I was in the 9th grade. I am 21 now. AdSense has been an important part of my life, till now. As I grew older my cost of living naturally increased, but my income could not increase any higher. My country's population is about 3M and AdSense CPC is usually around $0.20 here. There was no room left for expansion for my local websites. So I decided to expand my business overseas. "I'll die before I become a wageslave!" I said to myself... My new year resolution for 2016 was to start new ventures targeting English-speaking audiences. So, we're halfway through 2016, let's see my progress. I kept track of everything, including work hours so that I could analyze my progress and do monthly self-evaluation.

    I handed over my websites to my older brother who specializes in Instagram and he gave me a fair amount of money in return. I set up 2 brand-new, niche oriented websites that I aim to own and grow for years, just like I did with my previous sites. I am confident that they will become authority sites earning lots of money consistently. But before they start making an amount that I can live off of, I need to make some quick dollars to survive. So, here are some stuff that I read on BHW, added my own little twist and gave it a go;

    1. CPA: This concept has always been intriguing to me. So much potential for so little effort, who wouldn't like that? I AM a hardworker but I wouldn't say no to some easy money. So, I started with CPA. "If I could pull in a couple hundred bucks a month, that would easily help me get by while I focus on the bigger picture" and it surely would, I can easily live off of $300 here lol #Just3rdWorldThings~~
I set up an iPhone 6 giveaway page, corny I know, gave it a slick Apple looking design, at least I thought it to be so. My twist to it was adding a social locker, forcing visitors to share the deal on their FB page before they can take it. It turns out it was already a thing, but hey, I invented it! I came up with the idea all by myself! Hehe, anyway. I ordered 3 fiverr gigs that I halfway knew were bullshit but halfway hoped they were real, stuff like I will share your link to my 100k followers. They did turn out to be bullshit with about 3 clicks each and naturally zero conversions, no surprise there. I then moved on to my backup plan of sharing the link in Facebook groups and pages. Spent DAYS carefully spreading the thing, rephrasing the wording so it doesn't get blocked, etc. Result: no one gave a fuck lol. What a disappointment, so much for "no effort big income". I know there are people out there who makes great money with this thing. But honestly I was thinking "c'mon who would fall for this shit?" all the time. Guess I'm not cut for bullshitting or maybe should find better deals to promote. Let's move on...
    CPA JOURNEY
    Money Spent:
    $20 ($10 domain, $10 hosting)
Time Spent: ~70 hours almost all of which was spent campaigning
    Earnings: literally nothing

    2. Dropshipping: Although I am not giving up on this since it doesn't have any upkeep cost, I have kinda lost my hopes of making anything with it, so I'll share the details. After doing a quick research on Amazon and Ebay I found out that USB Drives sells like candy. I also came to realize that there are so many flash drive designs, I thought they only came in shapes of USB sticks, but there even are ones shaped like beer glasses lol. Anyway, I picked 2 core products that I thought I could definitely market efficiently. Then I picked 12 more interesting products that I would add to the site but not advertise since they don't have a very specific audience. I mean how can you be halfway sure who would be interested in an USB lamp stick? My 2 flagships;

    A) YODA USB:
his should be so easy, right? Join Star Wars related Facebook groups and post the link to your sales page. But then again, Star Wars people are usually nerds and probably know that this 4 GB flash drive that I am selling for $10 can be found for $2 on aliexpress... Or do they? I gave it a try anyway. Yeah, nevermind. They do know. My group posts received comments like "lol man it is $2 on eBay". Well, fair enough! I'll try Facebook ads then. They should be urged to at least check it out when the offer is staring into their face with a VERY attractive AD design. Now I don't claim to be a pro but I have enormous experience about Facebook AD campaigns. I did very thorough targeting, but still no luck. Since I targeted the US the CPC cost of my AD ate through my budget very quickly. ROI was just not feasible enough. (funny fact: FB suggested $10 bid per click lmao)

Alright, that's okay, let's move on to the next option!

    B) iPhone Fan: Now THIS should sell, no?! Just 9 bucks, the heat is melting half of the world, right time, right product, right audience (I targeted hot states like Florida and Cali, also Arabia), but guess what, even less interest than Yoda. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Could it be the website? I did my best to make it look as professional and legit as it can. You check it yourself and tell me what you think: usbmarkt dot com - it has SSL, live support (really live, it is linked to my phone) and all.

Oh well, I will get back to this. Main problem has been incompetence of my FB campaign, too few clicks for too much money. I hoped it would get me some quick $$ to help me get by while I work on bigger projects, let's move on to the next step of my master plan before I waste any more resources on this.
    DROPSHIPPING JOURNEY
    Money Spent:
    $170 ($10 domain, $20 hosting, $30 SSL, $90 FB ads, $20 samples)
Time Spent: ~130 hours, could be done in much shorter time but; too much attention to detail
Earnings: $0, 2 new USB drives, EXP ++

    3. Porn Site Affiliate: I'm a new member on BHW but a long time lurker. The "porn reupload" method has always been a meme in my mind, I mean c'mon lol. But while at it, I might get this one out of the way too I thought. I love porn, who doesn't. Have a huge archive too. So I jumped in. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but 1 video with a million views is better than 10000 videos with 1 view each. I wanted to go for quality instead of quantity. I registered to crakrevenue. Checked their offers. Picked 3 niches: milf, camsites, teens. Registered domains for each. Now this was a rookie mistake, registering 3 at the same time. I should've tried one out first, then if I saw any return of investment I should've gone on and scaled. I redirected domains to offers. Again, since I'm going for quality, I spent hours checking my archive and the web for the best videos of each niche (it was a very tiresome task!), then after I selected the best videos for each niche, I edited them thoroughly. For an example you can go to Red Tube 1616391. You have an intro, a fine logo placement, outro, what have you. Same for all the 3 niches. It has been 3 weeks. So what is the result? nothing lol. 200 leads and $0 income.
The "top videos" section of every possible porn site is dominated by a certain fella from BHW, who definitely has a script to increase views. Definitely, because those videos are shit tbqfh fam and really rookie editing. But that's not important.
It was a sad realization for me, a moment of enlightenment at the same time, quality doesn't matter for blackhat methods. It is like trying to talk nicely to a snake. Could Shakespeare stop a piton from killing him with his poetry? Can quality content fight mediocre content that is backed by an army of robots? Kudos to the said BHW fella of course, I would do the same if I could. GG FAM.
I have been looking for ways to artificially increase my view count as well but there doesn't seem to be any publicly available or for sale scripts. Logical, otherwise everyone would do that. Porn reupload is too big a method for me.
    PORN REUPLOAD JOURNEY
    Money Spent:
    $60 ($30 domains, $30 VPS)
    Time Spent: ~35 hours
Resources Spent: Cc's of various proteins, vitamins and minerals
Earnings: $0, but 2 very valuable lessons learned tbh

I'll not go into detail with my other sites yet since it would be unfair to judge them at this stage, they are not supposed to be quick short bursts like these other methods I tried.

I think my main weakness is my incompetent/too uptight marketing strategies, or that I lack the tools powerful enough to compete with my colleagues. Not sure.

I'll post here with more failures in the near future. Suggestions are welcome

Trying to sell a 4 GB USB stick for $10? I am not a marketing expert myself but I think there's certainly room for improvement, yeah.

    My opinion:
    1 Bad cpa niche bro
2 Bad product to dropship (theres no space for markup price)
3 Never try to sell directly to sm traffic rather capture them and try to convert them later, soften them up before trying to convert.
4 and for adult cant tell you any advice since im not into it...

Thanks for the honesty. While I wish you well, I enjoyed reading and learning from your mistakes. There are many success stories but not many people have the courage to list their failures so well done :) Good reminder for myself as I am new to the IM journey and am struggling but have to keep going and remain consistent.

Everything is a learning experience. You'll fail a lot but so long as you never give up, you'll reach your cpa goals for sure. All those little things you learn between the methods you jump around on will compound into more knowledge for your next method. Big tip is don't jump from method to method too quick. If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one.

I really enjoyed reading your journey. It can be really discouraging to put so much effort into something and receive no return, but i'm glad you are able to have such a funny outlook. I definitely agree that experience is valuable and i'm happy to see that you don't see your lack of earnings as failure, but lessons learned.

Nice story. I'm new to IM and its hard work. It's harder to learn marketing and setup and all the tricks and tools than it is to go be a "wageslave". I use to think this was some sorta easy thing, setup a blog and rake in big bucks lol. But I want to see it through, I can see the potential and its worth the effort and time to learn things. Good job sharing your learning experience here with us. Keep working hard you will find your money sooner rather than later!

I think the methods here are out dated. These days no newb earns anything without investing heavily in to traffic. The niche , blog and cpa methods worked with lil investment in the past , like 2000s , but almost all the angles are closed so it's easy to fail big. You rarely see a newb making anything in these method threads. Analyzing something before getting into it can save u a lot of headache in the long run.
