Improving conversion and local traffic

I've tuned seo technically, surfer articles, built some backlinks and on page one top 5 result.

Traffic increased, mainly from the USA but local traffic dropped by half. Likewise for sales.

What can I do to improve the local traffic and sales?

you probably need to focus on more local stuff (citations, backlinks / mentions from local sources, also get some positive reviews on local media / directories, stuff like this).

Unfortunately, I don't do local SEO so I'm not the best person to advice, but what I've said above could be a starting point

And also have a look at who outranked you, maybe you can figure out why and gain the rankings back...
