Hey guys, Just another one of my contributions.
Have you all seen when someone has a little banner at the bottom of the page that scrolls down as you do?

These should work quite well for CTR and they should be quite good quality traffic on the click through.

Does anyone know how to make one or what they are called?

I'm trying to find an example but I can't

Or just your 2c

Just like that, i just found out it was a div with the position fixed by having a little look on html dog.

It looks quite good dosen't it?

Yeah, I've found that things convert pretty well there. You can float at top or bottom. It still suffers from a bit of ad blindness, works slightly better for CPA products you're promoting - they can always click to the product while reading your promo text, rather than having to scroll to the top or bottom to get to it.

You might like to try using that for list building also. It works well to get their attention without putting it right in their face.

There are some variations that when mouseovered will expand to take up 1/3 the screen, which is great if you want to place some kind of ad with it too ;)

Either way, keep experimenting to see what works best to get your CTR going.

what i'm really wondering now is whether it's ok to stick adsense inside a fixed position div ;)

their tos says you can't put it into popups, but this is sorta like a popup and sorta not at the same time...

Edit: apparently it falls under the catergory of 'Place ads in a floating box script.' which is against tos. o well
i can imagine this working wonders for iframed email submits
