I have just run onto one domain name and I would like to show you all perfect sample (to all of you who already do not know this), and that is why importance of RD (referring domain) is one of the most important factors ("metrics" wise) while you are picking out domain names for your PBN ventures.

This is maybe one of the best examples that I've found and this is why I've decided to post this just as a simple example (guide) why RD is most important factor when picking out domain names.

See this TF 50 RD 1071 domain. Great legit site/domain and should have such metrics.

See this TF 18 RD 1 domain that has link from above domain. ONE RD.
Actually, it has 3 links from 1 RD

So, now just check this out:

I can for sure say that even with one link, this typo domain has power now with it's fancy TF18, but what do you guys think happens with domain wwwgardenshow.com once when typo linked is fixed? :)

It gets HUGE 0 on every field. So be wise and pick domains with only RD10-15+ (no matter where you buy/find them) no less to have at least something left is some links get lost during the process.

Great point. You run a much higher risk of losing everything with only a couple RDs if they get dropped. It might be worth it though if one of those is a really killer authority link. Just pray the 'broken link' is not fixed.

    Precisely this!

I will try to find some time to write something about this, TF and niche relevancy when I have time next week. :)

Would never go for a domain with only one backlink, no matter how good. It could so easily get deleted. Always check that a domain isn't getting all its metrics from just one or two links and the rest being spam.

That would be really good idea for everyone that actually like to read and learn. :)

    Exactly my point! :)

Nice to see some real life examples. I think people get way to caught up on metrics without actually understanding how they can be manipulated and what actually matters in a domains backlinks.

    Great post.

I would also add that metrics aren't the end all be all. I like to go into the individual backlinks and see what they look like.

25 links from pages with high OBL vs 12 links from pages with lots of content and the link is embedded in the body... I would go with the RD=12 domain every time. Do you agree with that analysis?

Yup try to do so. :) People are to often so excited by "high metrics" so that is why I've made that example. This is TF 18 domain PA 22 (if someone is still looking at that metrics) never registered before. Awesome, right? Well no, not at all. As once when webmaster fixes that typo over there all the magic is gone as it relied only on 1 link. I would go all day long with 40-50-60 clean RD domains (especially contextual links) with TF 5 then some low RD domains.

This was just a small sample that I wanted to post, you can all find much more details in this crazy-ass-thread posted by @Nargil that explains absolutely everything related to domains nowadays.

Yes I could not agree more. Especially when link is embedded in the body of the page/post.
