80% of all internet users own a smartphone, 48% of consumers start mobile research with a search engine, and 33% of them go directly to the mobile site they are looking for. On top of that, internet users spend 70% of their time consuming media on their smartphones and Google, Yahoo, and Bing are responsible for driving 99% of all mobile search engine traffic.

And growing - just think when VR and AR become more mainstream. Sites will have to adjust for that....

You can directly target the customers. Mostly users are searching ideas and buying products through their mobiles. So you need to keep looking of your mobile serp and website optimization. It should be clear and navigation should be proper for mobile.

AMP is one of the important factor in mobile ranking and loading speed.

You shouldn't optimoze with more of content and image. It should be more crisp and clear. Then only you can reduce the bounce rates in mobile.

It's increasingly important for businesses to have a mobile-friendly website. Not only can it help customers reach you more easily when they're on the go, but it will soon impact search engine optimization.

A good experiment is to hook up your website to Google Analytics and take a look at the volume of visitors coming to your site from a mobile device (you should be able to see the operating system of the mobile device: iphone or android, even), this should give you a good idea about the future of your business with and without mobile optimization.
