Hi guys!
I would kindly ask you to help me get my head around this issue.
I am about to publish new shopify store, however a domain name I like cannot be reached in .com ,but its avalable in .net.
How big of a difference this is in terms of impact on store and brand name builiding?
Is .com domain really that much better ?

Thx in advance.

I have ranked a .biz shop a few months back. .com has its value and authority, but depending on how serious you promote it, most extensions can be promoted successfully

Depends if you're talking rankings or not. If your traffic and customers are coming mostly from one country, then consider the trust and geo-targeting of that country's TLD.

You can rank any generic TLD (Top Level Domain) in any country, and Google doesn't treat them differently from .com, but people do tend to trust .com sites more than .biz, .net etc due to the historic association of those types of sites with spam.

You can start low budget with the a .net domain and if you see a good response with the store you can then invest in the .com with confidence that is not a waste of money.

Annares nailed it.
The issue becomes your efforts building identity with your working .net and the unused .com receiving coattail perks. If your business is dollhouses, there is always the possibility of that unused .com appearing as a dollhouse competitor's .com in the future.

There is nothing better than .com but .net is second best and trustable to visitors after .com

Dosen't matter. Use the one availible. People don't care if it's .com or .guide anymore.
