This CBC News video shows a group of people creating a fake business. Which I think is hilarious cause this is how I started my first fake business. I faked everything you will see in this video X100.

    1) Created a fake business name.
    2) Said we were LLCd at the time which we weren't.
    3) Said we were insured which we weren't.
    4) Said we had financing which we didn't.
    5) Said we had 20 years experience when the site was weeks old.
    6) Boosted my FB with thousands of fake likes then put them on the site.
    7) Photoshopped logos and certifications with our business name in them.
    8) Fake testimonial videos.
    9) Fake price points.
    10) Used home address as fake business address (then later other peoples homes).
    11) Spent 3 months writing almost 120 fake reviews that we plastered everywhere.
    12) Faked an A- BBB logo on the site.

I wasn't an "IMer" back then. Just a hungry / desperate / uninformed mfkr willing to do anything to make it. And I was doing some really stupid shit. The BBB sent me 3 warning notices via snailmail cause they couldn't find our business in their records. Their 3rd notice was pretty intimidating. Lots of red ink and bold letters. So what did I do? I emailed them a page long LIE about how we were a "sister site" with many different sites all affiliated to 1 business. So I linked them to 3 other brand new sites I just made (all with the BBB logo). Then I found a competitor who was BBB accredited. I sent the number for that business with a fake name saying "You can call this number, ask for xxx and he'll verify everything".

After sending that message I was nervous as fuck. But I was so ignorant I thought, "if worse comes to worst I'll shut the sites down". The following day I get an automated email from the BBB saying, "thank you very much we have updated your records!" They never mailed me again. 2 years later when we did get BBB accredited they mentioned the records. I just said, "yeh, we broke off to do our own thing".

What's so strange, scary yet surreal.... that main business now does better than 90% of our competitors. I truly did fake, lie and deceive my way to "success". And the reason I say this, cause I just watched this video:

In that video there's this tool. Which I'm sure some of you know about. It allegedly detects fake reviews with near 90% accuracy.

    http://reviewskeptic.com/

I've never seen this site before and was very intrigued. As I have lots of old & fake reviews online. Then I remembered, "I still have the original file I stored them in". I only put 20 into the box. Out of those 20 I was expecting at least 17-18 would be spotted as fake.

Instead, it told me that >>>15 of the fake reviews were real. And only that 5 were fake. Which is hysterical. This site ran by Cornell University is claiming to be almost 90% accurate at spotting fake reviews.... yet like so many others.... turns out they're just lying. :D

    /end rant

That was fascinating. I'd love to read more on what you did as some of the statements they made in that video were... disputable.

That is why tell people don't use top rated actors on fiverr.
