Is simply because 95%+ of peope should not even attempt to run BUISENSS.

Sadly, after spending far too much time on the Net on forums, etc...I can see most people should do them-selve a huge favour in life and simply get a job and do what-ever you do with your spare time. (drink beer, watch Jetty springer, hang out, clean your trailer etc..)

Sadly most of the people I come across on the various forums are simply not cut out to run any kind of business. (probably why most fail or get into fraud type stuff) Best to avoid the frustration and be honest woith your s-elf. That alone is a great decision.

Any how rant over. Guess I'll take heat for this. But it is what I see all the time.

So, just because they failed or they are in your words destined to fail, so they should not even try. You, my friend, are absolutely wrong. Spend sometime and watch this video.

The reason why they fail is because they are QUITTERS
If you fall down it is fucking easy to stay down and chill.
It takes so much courage, valor and balls to stand up...
People do not stand up after falling, this is why 95% of biz fails.

When I started my first business (event management - fashion shows and nightclub events) I put a ton of effort into it. A good investment and so much energy. Unfortunately after a year, there was no more gasoline so we had to stop trading.

If I had given up, I would have gotten any of the job offers I had available (have 2 degrees, good qualifications). Instead, I decided to push it and learn everything about IM. Today im sitting with a big ass proyect in between hands, an already built site with a kw search equal to kw1-160k kw2-90k kw3-20k kw4-18k etc.

If I had given up, I would no chance be seeing the results I am seeing today.

If you fail it is because you DONT WANT TO SUCCEED

Lol to OP, this is such a stupid reason you gave us. Either you want less competition either you think 95% of people are stupid.

I completely agree with Reyone, people fail cause they quit, no cause they arent meant to run a business, thats just stupid.

Winners never quit, quitters never win.

No one is born to know something. You try harder, learn more and then you become successful.

Ive run my own business for 20 years and never had a boss. I could elaborate, but I am currently working so I'll just throw in some things I have observed in start up failures over the years.

Some people start there own business because they want to be free to play golf on a thursday afternoon etc. They see other self employed people doing that and think they fancy the lifestyle. The reality is you may well be able to take an afternoon off to play golf or bring the kids to the zoo but thats only because you have done 60 solid hours in the last four days. If you work for yourself you better be prepared to work twice as hard as you would if you had a steady 9-5. There is no one else to carry the can for you. Last night, after watching a late movie, I checked my emails before I turned in. I had one from a client in Australasia who needed to speak to me at 4.30 am the next morning.

If that sort of thing bothers you then you wont make it. Personally I love it, any meeting with clients can lead to new opportunities and I am always accessible.

A Lot of people spend the money before they earn it: Accounting is the most important operational necessity of any small business. Earning the money---accounting for all (and I mean all) of your overheads and then credit management...ie getting paid. I know too many guys that run their businesses off cigarette box mathematics. " Hey I bought that stock for £400 and I just sold it for £1000....woo big profit" calmly forgetting that they have an office, maybe staff, definitely heating/AC/Electricity bills. Fax machines, hardware and software. Advertising costs, stationary, warehousing etc etc Everything comes out of your pocket even coffee and toilet paper. Oh and by the way you need to pay tax as well. Some people think thats optional. I just spoke with a young guy who has the bones of a decent business happening. He told me January was so good for him that hes heading to riviera for two weeks to chill out. He will be looking for a job before the end of summer.

Getting paid is the most important thing. No point doing lots of business then leaving your accounting on the never never. How many threads do we see on this forum of the "my client stiffed me,how do I get revenge" type ? Dont let anyone stiff you. Do the job as specified, invoice out on time detailing the exact bill and your terms---7 days for me and then chase your money dont let it sit in anyone elses account.

And finally most small business fail to grow and fail to diversify their income streams. The simplest example of this is the "I was earning $4000 a month then panda slapped me and now Im dancing in a gay bar" crude example but what do you expect when all your eggs are in one basket and what were you doing with the money you earned ? you should have been diversifying into amazon-youtube-chinese imports-setting up your own brand....anything but sitting there milking a cash cow and thinking it will pay off forever. Anytime you are earning seemingly easy money think to yourself"this shit is good but it could all be over in the morning"

I better start doing some accounting. Thanks for this useful post. I actually have a long time client who owes me $100. It's 20 days overdue but he's still paying for my other services so I let it just sit there. Your post jilted me into sending him a payment reminder. I thank you.

starting a thread which such vague, general-rant-ish statements - not even providing a good question-mark to get a discussion going or at least having a detailed opinion, one can get into is...
...to be honest - something you should review on your side.

yeah - we all see that all of the time.
as well as useless threads with no real direction.
as well as people proving the opposite - gladly.

and by the way - who are you?
you could have at least come up with a "decent" story about your buisness empire and how you skyrocketed the whole market in no-time - because you got the "not so clear thingy" you talk about, the other 95% do not have.
