Hi everyone,

I have a very basic question. If someone is getting an image from my website using an without an tag would this count as a valid backlink for me?

if you are not linking the image to anything then no, the is the link portion.

I think if the code is placed avoiding the tag
the code wont work, so the hyperlink wont be blue and clickeable, you can include your naked URL on the "ALT"
and try it, never done it myself
Cheers

Some blog site automatically links on image. You don't want link with image, simply remove tag before tag.

It won't be counted as a backlink to your site unless the image is click-able and the image leads to your site when clicked. Without the tag, it won't be click-able.

It could help the image get indexed, but don't count on it helping your ranking specifically ;)
