Im a Top Rated Seller on ebay, until December 11th, everything was going good, was selling around $700+ everyday. On Dec 11th, I dont know what happened, all my listings started showing at the end of search results so I get around $40 sale everyday now. Before Dec 11th, most of the listings were showing up on the top 5 on the search results. having 1200+ pos feedback and zero negative. so the account is in perfect condition. It literally cant be any better. If one or two listings would show up at the end, it could be something normal, but all listings showing up right at the end of search results, even though i have the cheapest price and everything.

The only thing that comes to my mind is I just started selling a lot, I used to do 50 transactions every month before, but in november I did around 250, so on. So I am thinking ebay might have seen that and wanted to keep an eye on me. When I called ebay, they say nothing is wrong, they dont say anything about the search results.

The other thing that I dont even give a change is; my friend's account got suspended about a month ago, do you think they linked my account with his account and that's why they are doing this?

What do you think might be the issue?

    Thanks,

I have never felt EB is fair with search results. Log in several times a day and change prices a little and see if you notice a difference. Also, do you optimize your titles and do search of key words? (I'm sure you do but I had to ask)

I do optimize titles, and search for key words. The thing is; all listings were selling pretty good and showing on the top 5 until Dec 11th, and after dec 11th all of them started showing not even in the middle, right at the end of search results. I do have minimum price, and best DSR however doesnt make a sense. I am thinking that this is not normal at all, there must be something going on.

Well, the best way to find out is to contact their customer service. Perhaps they have recently made a change to the search engine, optimizing it differently? It happens sometimes, even on eBay.

Ebay search results can be controlled by several factors, they're not static SERPs like a search engine. Users can sort by several factors and the system can sort according to region, shipping, prices, etc.... They may have tweaked one of the default settings and your ad didn't match anymore. Clear your cookies and check from behind a proxy and see if you see the same results again.

Usually if the drop was sudden and occurred on a Friday morning you can bet it was eBay tweaking that was responsible, but in this case chances are that it's down to Cassini, oh and check your listings and see if you've been switched to immediate payment only, i see that happening more and more and quite frankly it's a killer for your sales. Also bear in mind that if your items are likely to be bought as gifts sales will get slower every day between 11th and 26th december, as is always the case with ecommerce. You'll probably notice that overseas sales almost grind to a halt until 26th.

That said, if you want me to look at your listings just in case something actually is screwing up i'd be more than happy to, but i'm fairly busy over the weekend so might take a few days.

A bunch of factors take into consideration

    What helps:
    Max Out Pictures
    Free Shipping
    Free Returns
Watching your Listing First 24 hours
Sales first 24 hours of Listing
    DSR Rating
    Top Rated Seller Status

Theres really only so much you could do though

so are top rated sellers on the top of the ebay search pile when you are viewing by best match?
