Hi guys can you tell me what you think of this Toshiba laptop. My son needs a decent laptop for uni, and I think this looks a decent buy. Hes not a gaming freak, it will be purely for his uni, and watching videos etc.

My budget is around that £350- £375.

Can anyone suggest something better for the price, or even better something that is better but cheaper?

    Thanks
    Si

I used a Toshiba Satellite a few years ago. It was excellent, but the only problem I had was with the fan overheating and getting really loud. Pretty sure they have fixed this in newer models though.

Yeah, thats a decent laptop, and more than good enough for for a Uni student.

Another vote for Toshiba here, I have 2 of their laptops and they're awesome (although ageing a bit now :p) And, buying somewhere like Currys, you have the peace of mind of the guarantee they will offer...wouldnt bother with the insurance or anything like that though, they will definitely try to sell you it, always have when I've bought stuff.

Nothing wrong with it at all. It will be fast enough for everything he needs, and has plenty of storage and is high quality. Good choice.

Definitely can stream movies/tv online and do all of his schoolwork on that machine :) I recently bought another laptop for purely these 2 purposes (wanted 1 to do a little work while on the couch and use the rest of the time to plug into the TV to stream movies) which is worse than the one you're looking at and it works great for me.
