    Well, the usual argument is:

"Dont blast your own site with 100k AA spammy blogs because you'll lose ranking."

"Ok... then let me blast my competitors site and fuck them."

"Mmmm, nope that won't work either..."

    "Huh? Why???"

And that's when we all start arguing and questioning each other.

Why is this? Because we don't realize a few simple things.

    1) You're probably thinking of blasting your site because you're either fairly new or your conducting test studies - meaning that you're site is probably PR 0, Under a year old, and not very authoritative. So you'd go into a dance with the G if you blasted yourself and might come out stronger or weaker (depending on your consistency and term length with the blasts).

    2) Your competitors that you want to blast are probably fairly older, have PR and have authority. Meaning either they won't go into a dance and might get affected positively immediately or they will go into a short dance (up to 2 weeks) and come back a little stronger.

So, my conclusion, i guess..., is that you should only blast yourself if you have a decent authority domain.

Also, to eliminate any overall negativity to any kind of backlinking:

Anybody have any thoughts, opinions, ideas? Very welcome here!

A link is a link is a link.

Spamming your competition is a waste of time. In worst case, you are just helping them out, in the best case it make´s no difference at all.

I sometimes spam the crap out of my money sites. Never experienced any problems except for Google dances.

If it would work to spam comp out of the SERPs, I would make sure that my dedi´s with Xrumer spammed links to my comp with gay porn anchors all day long.

Wanted to do that but seemed more productive to build my site than try and harm all the competition

I think what happens is someone sets up a new blog. They blast it with spammy links. The website goes up the rankings and gets a few sales. They you wake up one morning and see its dropped massively down the rankings and think "Fu*k google they've just penalised me!!"

Whats actually happened is thats they've just taken away the credit for those spammy backlinks that you weren't entitled to in the first place. I think this is why spamming your competitors backlinks won't work - they already have genuine backlinks holding them up in the rankings which wont be taken away from them.

it won't have any effect .

    why?

think for a while : if you already rank #1 for your keyword , why you will blast your site with 100 aa blogs?

its not logical , and google knows that :p

Yeah, I never care to spam a competitors site, no point in doing so really.
