Instead of doing all this other stuff I bet if you can crank out a couple of good WSO's a month and be able to upsell/cross sell whatever on the back end you can make some very good money while building a really good list super fast! With all the garbage out there I cant see how a person could not do well with this business model. I mean thats how all the big guns over there are making their money. Has anyone here made a WSO and not made any money at all on it? I know how to make infor products so I think all I gotta pay for is the copywriting and sales page design so maybe cost me $500 to get one going? I mean even 100 sales at $17 is 1700, and you can get alot more than that.

Thats assuming you can get at least 100 sales per WSO. Most WSOs that claim they've sold XXX amounts are bullshitting you. I've launched a few WSO and they are decent money makers but I wasn't selling the old rehashed info ebook. I don't sell them anymore because the profit generated didn't justify the amount of time involved (product creation, copywriting, aftersales support, etc). You're not going to get 100 sales without having to bump it a few times (40 bucks per bump) unless you have something extra extra extra special, and even then its going to be kind of hard if you don't already have a list to push it to.

I think even if you break even if its a good product you will have a really good list and of course if you have an upsell to make on the back end. You could also do solos and stuff with the list too. Probably make some really good contacts...I dont know but I do know that some people just make wso and make a good living off of it. Im gonna try anyways. there is so much traffic and so many people looking for the next shiny object.

No doubt you could make some decent coin hocking WSOs, especially with upsells and the list building opportunity that WF and its ilk presents. You can make good money in the make-money-online niche (I do as an affiliate, not selling anything of my own) but it's no more "where the money is" than any other niche on the internet.

Agreed. If you think you are going to post a WSO and it well get sales you're wrong. Although there is a lot of traffic in that forum at any 1 time, I'd say at least 90-95% of it is sent from emails to a specific thread and not foot traffic.

    Many quality answers here.

    My experience is:

    1. info products won't make you as much as you think (other methods tend to be more profitable)
    2. it doesn't pay to sell a method that is not overused, meaning if you have truly valuable information, you shouldn't be giving it because before you know every other seller will have copied you and your method is gone
    3. if you choose this route, it is better to sell bullshit and just pay for a good copy

    just my 2 cents

I have a nice WSO I will sell you to teach you how to get rich from selling WSOs lol
But on a serious note. BigBuddy is right. I would try to establish a contact list first.

The money in the long run is in creating the list. Like Bigbuddy said you need to have contacts with those lists to really get started. Many of them will actually sell emails to send to their list.

Don't think you can just throw up a WSO and get a bunch of customers. To do that you need to be a part of the WF circle jerk community.

    * If you have your own product, build your own list through the WSO.
    * Give out 'free' review copies in return for 'favorable' reviews.
    * Promote WSO via affiliates.
    * JV with other (big) list owners.

If you have a large clientele and have a good product then the sky is the limit. The more you release the more you sell. These guy who claim to sell xxxx aren't bsing, they have had their product up for a long time and have a big mailing list and get involved in joint ventures and mailing list exchanges. Try put a lot more time into marketing the product than actually creating it. Go get yourself a reputation and create a product that is more than just an ebook. People are tired of reading the same ebooks over and over again. Membership websites and video tutorials seem to be the hot topic lately.

Good ideas here. Regarding a list, you can either 1) build your own, and in the meanwhile just expect to net the low hundreds in $, or maybe two dozen sales from your first WSOs, 2) buy or JV somebody else's list to get a better result. And as for taking advantage of newbies, to assuage your conscience, instead of just rewriting a previous sorry WSO word for word, study 10 or so WSOs on a topic, and write the 11th, one that summarizes the best tips of the others. That way you are providing some value by selling the cream, so others don't have to wade through the crap of the 10 prior WSOs. Even title it a newbie guide, so that noobs know what they are getting, instead of hyping it up as a guru master course.

WSO is a lot of garbage...and a lot of the noobs buy it up. So yes, it can be a good money maker, but only if you are able to not spend tons of time creating it. Why? Because the longevity of each product prob isn't very long!

It's going to be less and less profitable, as the time goes, even if you have "a good list". People who tend to buy something (don't have to be IM products only or necessarily) are on so many lists already... I mean... I bought just couple of things when I started IM (couple of e-books and soft. products) from one email, and I get on that address minimum of 20 email A DAY trying to sell me something. Come on... that's not gona work
