    You know that moment when you open your email in the morning and you see 100 new emails, hoping one of them is a juicy £10000 client? Well, that moment has been ruined for me because everyday its;

    https://gyazo.com/a648e8c0096234628efb4b38faeaed27

    are you fucking serious? Business owner? Do these ever convert is my first question, second question, if you can be bothered to spam why not put that effort into ranking your own goddamn site?

    The most fucked up part is that this particular business I have a stake in, it's business model is selling virtual staff to people (i.e. SEO staff) so why the hell would we want SEO work done?

    To whoever is in SEO still, stop spamming businesses via email, and it definitely won't work if you call yourself Jennifer and have a thousand syntax errors in your English (Hello mr.patel). I'm brown man, embrace that shit, don't hide it. FYI the email I picked as a snapshot, is one of the better ones, usually you just know there's a rajdeep patel sitting behind that "jennifer" profile.

    Do you have the who is protection on for your domain. This is where most of those companies are pulling contact info and then sending mass emails.

    Other option is to set up a filter and block them at the server level.

They call, or try to call themselves English name like John. i had someone contact me via my contact page and ask if i needed a website, WTF! I also occasionally get phone calls, i just tell them to get lost and put down the phone. One day they'll learn.

    Yep i do have private whois, I know how they're getting my info, and I can't remove it from there as it's a part of client acquisition. A double edged sword I guess. I don't mind receiving emails, but if it's "dear business owner" with no quality research...

    To put it simply, it's because it works. Spam works. That's why people do it.

    they also get it from social media, so even having private whois doesn't help

    No doubt it works, but not when it's generic af. It's not even interactive, there's no valuable content on there. If you're acquiring SEO clients via email spam, you're living in a delusional world of false profits.

    I'm complaining because there are better ways to acquire SEO clients. I get millions of emails on my personal email accounts, I have no qualm with that type of spam, but b2b spam is not a sustainable business model...

    Yes, I briefly read this, and I follow similar protocols for acquiring clients in all my businesses - spam for the sake of spam in the b2b world just doesn't work and if it does work on the offchance, it's not sustainable. Offer some valuable content, a free meal, I run events even. Incentivise it mr patel, and maybe you will get a conversion from your basement in mumbai.

    Rule #1... NEVER use your real daily/business email to order SEO services. Always have a separate email for this... otherwise you'll be flooded with broken-English emails promising "Rank Google Number One."

    I get these emails every day too.

    I get about 2 - 10 of these kinds of emails daily. If I'm getting them, my potential clients are getting them too.

    What bothers the fuck out of me is that in Australia it's illegal for me to do the same thing as them (unsolicited emails).

    How is it fair that these people can half ass it and get clients, yet I if I do mass email I risk being sued. It's bullshit dawg.

    Email spam to build spammy links so that others can spam their products to people that are being spammed by buzzfeed regularly....makes sense.
