    Hi,

I'm staying waaay to much in front of computers in the last months. I want to start soon a more healthy style simply because I'm feeling sick (back pain, eyes pain). Everyone knows that staying 10-20 hours in front of computer is fuqing sick and crazy. I know here are some risks but I really don't want to work, make shit load of money and then reinvest in keeping me alive lol

Looking to see how internet marketers keep healthy! Thinking if someone here gets any type of diet or makes exercies.

    Thanks

Eating good and finding time for exercise will increase your productivity at the PC. Find time for exercise at least 3x/week and you will see better performance.

You have all provided some very useful tips. Another is to take on a physical job maybe two to three hours a day just to have an excuse to get out of the house. :)

But he dies at 80 years of age instead of 55...

I guess I have just learned to find happiness outside of ingesting substances? I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

Yep, I've been doing this since 1998 non stop! I have carpal tunnel syndrome in one arm (two numb fingers), tennis elbow AKA 'mouse' elbow in the other arm and now have cataracts in both eyes - result 50% vision! Surgery now needed on my arm and eyes. BTW all of these are repetitive strain injuries - I'm not joking this is all true! Get away from your PC at least once an hour and climb some stairs or take a short walk anything to take a break! Your health comes first - no point in making money in IT and being to wrecked to enjoy it! (and leave your cell & tablet behind as well!)

Were you taking breaks and working out and staying active during this time?
How many hours a day were you at the PC?

Use your right hand less and start using the left one. Get a orthopedic chair that keeps your back straight, don't slouch. Do excercises targeted directly at building your core muscles around your abdomens and lower back. Do eye excercises every so often moving your eyes around when staring at the screen for such a long time. Try and get a screen filter to reduce glare and lower the brightness, reducing eye strain. Purchase Gunnar OPTIKS high performance computer eyewear.

    This is a great anwer.

I would like to add that diet is EXTREMELY important, garbage in garbage out.

Also, there have been multiple studies on wifi's effects on the brain as well as on the testosterone. Keep the laptop off the family jewels. Because lower T can have rippling effects on your health.

Same goes for the cell phone.

So simple: eat right, exercise and get up from the damn chair at least once every hour. Minimize your recreational drugs and drink and you'll be fine.

Also spend the money on the right lighting and consider ergonomics in your setup.

Go to the rehab clinic. ( not for addicted people. )

Just stay there for a week, massages, exercises, no computer, + experts will tell you what to do , how to become healthiest and etc.

When I was doing some courseworks, + hundred emails from clients, and other IM stuff, i was working nearly 18-20 hours per day, so guess what, after 3 days of 'great work' I just shutdown and guess where I woke up :D

Most of us can tell you that you need do some exercises and etc, but I believe better is ask the expert. He'll tell you exactly when what to do and even what to eat.

    Good luck with your health

going to gym alone won't really solve your problem.

    read here: http://news.discovery.com/human/is-sitting-the-new-smoking-120301.html

it's not computer that makes you unhealthy, it's because you keep sitting.

Go find something to lift up your monitor, keyboard, and mouse (like boxes) so you will work standing in front of your computer. If you are too tired with that remove the boxes again and so on.

Wear some eye protector and install f.lux on your pc that will regulate the brightness and radiation. It will help you avoid certain eye problems. Also get some exercise and practice a balanced diet.

    tips:

    1) Seat in a proper comfortable position for the back and hands, and don't keep your eyes near the screen.

    2) Start eating healthy, vegetables, chicken, rice, these are all very nice and tasty. Don't drink coke, or other fizzy drinks/juices, water is the best and healthiest.

    3) In the morning, go run a kilometre or two, then increase it each week. Personally MY thoughts, gym is not required, running is the best and activates all your muscles, and extremely healthy. You should also do push-ups on a daily basis, you will feel stronger, and healthier.

    4) Take breaks from the computer, I don't know how much you are sitting on your PC but take breaks, If you play 3 hours non-stop, take 15 minute breaks between each hour.

The above will help you stay fit, healthy, and make you feel better. :)
