    Hello Everyone,

I'm planning to start a meme comics site (will run it on WordPress, of course).

    1. I'm not very creative so I'll be "sourcing" content from other, popular (and also the not-so-popular) sites.
    2. I plan to monetise it using Google AdSense. Since the site will be very thin on textual content and some memes are slightly adultish in nature, should I be worried of my AdSense account getting banned?
    3. I'll provide the option for people to create & submit their memes on my site. So, the user generated content option will be there... also bringing some "unique content" on my site.
    4. How do I geo-target the traffic? I understand that Facebook is probably the biggest source of traffic for such sites. I want to attract more visitors from the USA. How do I go about doing that? I have no friends from the USA on my friends' list.
    5. I know there's a lot of competition in this niche, but so is the case in many other niches. Besides, I've figured out a way using a few WordPress plugins to have it work on auto-pilot after a little time spent on initial set-up. So, if it makes money, fine. If it doesn't, I shut it down or sell it out. I don't see much harm or loss. What do you think?

Looking forward to some helpful responses and discussion. Thanks in advance, guys. :)

There are plenty of meme based sites already. The problem is that traffic is quite low quality even on Reddit. I would suggest you to dig fashion/recipes niches if you're not creative at all.

Personally, if you're gonna go this route, make sure you have it in your budget to buy a few large and active Facebook pages. Otherwise it's not worth it dude. There are thousands of meme sites already, like iPinner already said.

In short, it's not an easy job. Even on autopilot, it will require hard and constant work, initially at least.

Agree with above. Because there are very few barriers to entry, it's a very competitive niche. So you have to either do something really unique, and or have quite a bit of cash to invest, in order to get this to work.

also I would imagine that it's not the easiest thing in the world to monetise? But that's only a guess.
