I've been sitting here on my laptop with notepad open, trying to think of numerous topics to cover, but cannot seem to find a topic that doesn't end with 10 or 15 posts. Do I just not have a drive or passion for anything? For example, I've taken the sudden interest in learning what makes a vehicle go faster. Now, who doesn't want to drive an exotic car? I know I would like to. Anyways, I find that topic interesting, looking up pictures and videos of different car makes, reminiscing in what I hopefully will be able to drive one day. I don't see that as "passion", more than just something I'm interested in it. Sure, I've spent literally hours watching videos on different car manufactures websites, but that doesn't mean I can take an engine apart and put it back together, all while documenting it and posting it for my visitors to learn. No, I wish. Suggestions? Not what to write about, but how to find something to write about [=

I have the same problem, I'm trying to find something to make websites on that I'll want to update and look after because I enjoy the subject matter.

When you talk to your friends, what do you talk about most. Just keep that in the back of your mind when you talk to people and see if a particular topic comes up more than others. Also have a look at your internet bookmarks, any particular topic that you have more bookmarks on than anything else (porn doesn't count :p )

This is something that requires the power of questions. If you are "thinking" about what to write about you are not going to write with passion. Every single person has something that interests them and that they go above and beyond to learn more about and I am sure you have those subjects within you. Actually just by writing the entry you did you have a passion right now about "finding a drive internally" and you have set out on a quest to find it. Now you just need to ask yourself the proper empowering questions to get to your conclusion, but first you need to get clear with your life.

Evaluate areas where you may be out of balance, maybe health, family, love life, work stress. Are there areas where you are out of balance, because without being in a calm state of balance finding your passion is very difficult.

One question to ask yourself to find out if you are passionate about something is to ask, "knowing everything I know now, is this topic still exciting enough for me to start it all over from scratch today, or was it really not that cool and if starting at square one i would probably have picked something else to do"

Identify things in your life that are your greatest value maybe that will strike a passion. You may find yourself writing about an amazing family life, or enjoying the outdoors because you enjoy it so much but never thought of it as a money maker

Think about if your life were perfect 5 years from today what things would you have in your life, start writing about those today because the more you put those on paper the more likely that perfection will manifest.

Usually by asking "if i had someone write me a check for $1M dollars today what would be the first thing come to my ind to use it for?" Usually something that you find passion in, or value in will come to mind.

I am not trying to point out certain psychological things, however, let me pose an idea to you being a person who has studied human psychology for years. Do you really think people who buy exotic cars know much about the technical aspects and constructive materials, engine components etc? I can assure you that they don't because it is a study I have actually seen subjects involved in. Of course SOME of them do know but the majority are looking for a "feeling" not a product. They enjoy the looks, the significance, the women/perks/front row parking, the feeling of importance and recognition. Many of them would dream of having the super cars because they didn't find significance in other areas of their lives.

Just the same as women don't like huge diamonds because of their "gem quality and rarity" (again some do), but more often it is because of the emotions they bring with making them feel important and significant, and looked upon by other women. Maybe as a sign that "hey somebody loves me and bought these for me... does anyone love you that much bitch" kind of attitude.

Remember people don't kill to see a body turn cold. They do it to feel significant, to gain a sense of variety and uncertainty, to feel certainty as well. The 6 human needs are funny things and there are a lot of venues to reach them and meet them.

Just dig in and think about the need you are trying to meet by writing something you "think" you are passionate about as opposed to asking the value questions, how you generally spend your days/nights and let those actions prove what you are really good at. Sorry for the long rant but helping people when in these situations is my "passion" and yes it's because I need the significance of making a difference because i was ignored from age 11 so I am making up for lost praise. Sucks to admit, but there ya have it.

If you want to find the best topic to write about, look in the mirror, don't look outside of yourself is what I mean.

Two of the most popular Blogs I ever had were from inside me, my own experiences and insights. I wasted lots of time trying to write what I thought was interesting to other people, those Blogs all flopped. Jee, I wonder why?

My two most popular Blogs got thousands of hits a month at one point, and I didn't even do any seo on either, they were both pieces of crap, but unique, so I got a lot of interest from people.

How I discovered this was all my stuff that flopped, I just said "Fuck this" one night, I'm writing what I feel, not what will sell....and fucking boom, like magic it all came together believe it or not.

I grew up in the Carny business, so I made a blog on called diary of a carny, holy fuck I got a lot of traffic on that Blog. It was a cheesy piece of shit but people loved it, I still get emails to this day, even though I haven't up dated it in a long long time.

At the time I was working nights in a gas station, this was during the winter when I was off the road. That was a popular Blog too, all the weird shit and people you see woring in a gas station all night in a city makes for lot's of good stories and posts. I eventually let that Blog go to and deleted it finally.

The moral of the story is this, only you have your outlook, and it can be very interesting to others, be honest and write from the heart, not head, about whatever, about you.

Maybe you think you're boring, or your life is, let others be the judge.

Maybe you're a teenage girl that works in a donut place in the wee hours of the morning, maybe you're a middle aged loser that hate's his life, maybe you're a house wife contemplating the universe, or some geek that can't make a dime in blackhat or get laid.

Write about it, be brutally honest, tell the gritty truth, people will flock to it.

...and in case you wondered those 6 are:

    1. Certainty/Comfort
    2. Contribution
    3. Connection/Love
    4. Growth
    5. Variety/Uncertainty
    6. Significance

Usually all uncharacteristic actions made by someone will be to fill at least 2 or more of these needs simultaneously if they are missing in their life. The BIGGER the crazy act, the more of these needs it usually meets.

For an example of a gang member murder: You feel significant/important, Certain that you will get your way, uncertain of the outcome, love/connection form the gang, growth in your "new family", and contribution to the cause you did it for. All 6 human needs met by ONE single act....

Yet congress still wonders why we have gangs and murders... it's simple human needs that are not being met inside the home. OK Im done.

Tomorrow evening, go take a dive into the deepest part of the ocean. You need stimuli in your life. Get off of the computer and exercise your body. You need fresh air and warm sunlight.

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you drown because you can't swim. :22:

It's just not possible that you are not passionate about money. If you are, go for the topic that pays good.

hey 10 or 15 posts per topic is damn fine - just write about a lot of things you don't really care about and have many niches going!

I'm not passionate about any of my work. I am, however, passionate about cashing those checks. It's work. You don't have to like it, you just have to do it.

You need P.V.A, Passion, Vision and Action, if your missing just one of these your not going to get anywhere.

    Passion, you like cars.

Vision, you probably know what you're seeking in your interest in cars, news on the latest blow off valve maybe, maybe videos of people drifting, drag racing etc. A basic vision would be to take people on your ride as you find the latest news, view the latest videos. There's also plenty of car related products out there, could probably find some great microniches out there. Would be plenty of of untapped keywords/phrases I would expect.

Action, just start putting it into action, maybe set-up a blog, write about what interested you each day, even post the videos you watched, it doesn't have to be hard, you just have to do it.

LOL @ Allie and the other one above. Write about the recent google site droppings. Enough people are pissed about it. Or don't write anything at all; it ain't worth it anymore. Google doesn't care about what you have to write about and will sink your content page to pagination "hell". Steal content, steal content or you will be stolen from. Make your autoblog and don't waste your life trying to please Google writing content. It's a dog eat dog world out there. Steal, steal, steal content. It ain't 2003 anymore. Whoever wastes their time writing articles with the hope of making money with adsense or ranking well is a fool. If Google doesn't frustrate you with their ranking treatment, which I'm 100% sure they will, I will take you content, rank it above yours and google will thank me on top of that with a big, gigantic adsense check. Doesn't that break yar heart? Google ate my honesty. Now Google plays my way or the highway. BH is the language they understand I guess.

Your "make a vehicle go faster" article will end up on my site faster than a Bugatti Veyron and without any credits or link juice sorry. :) Tough world out there. Just go like Sarah Palin, ROGUE. Just being blatantly "honest" here. LOL.

You dont need to be passionate if you know how to be a robot the right way ;-P

I used to be into copywriting but later found out you need a soul to make that work.
    Now?

I just find garbage from anywhere, piece a paragraph here, paragraph there, feed through Thebestspinner and voila!
A masterpiece of quality, semi-plagiarized garbage.

Passion is optional in writing for IM.

    True that!

    Pure WH is stupidity.

WH methods applied scaled in BH is just being smart.

    Waste time writing.
Waste time building backlinks. And a thousand other creative time wasters instigated by Google.

If theres one thing im passionate about? That is to pit my Robots against Humans wasting their lives pleasing google.
I just LOVE stealing their quality content and bastardizing them :D

You CAN comeup with quality sites, quality content, quality backlinks by using robots.
    And robots never need passion.
