    Hi guys,

I have a massive interest in the online marketing industry and want to do well.

I have heard that SEO optimization and Link building is extremely important to get a site ranking. Any advice available as to what to look into or how I can get myself rolling?

    Any info is massively appreciated!

The most important thing to learn as someone new is that their is tons of information here and on other forums. It is so easy to get information overload with all of the various ways to potentially earn money online.

The best tip I can give you is to find one thing you are interested in learning...stick with that one thing until you master it...or realize it just isn't your thing before jumping to the next shiny object. If you want to focus on SEO...just stick to that until you are really good at ranking sites naturally...don't jump to PPC or PPV until you master SEO.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for this - sorry to be a complete pain and a bit of a noob - after looking into it, what are the areas of SEO that I should look into? I have found on-page optimization and link building but I have no idea on how to do it! haha

Just focus on one method and work on that at least 2 months and check the out the fruit of your work. If you didn't get anything turn to another But i am sure if you will do all steps correct there will be fruit of it. Don't try to puzzle and search for months to find a method and break every method in the middle.

So should I just focus on say, On-Page Optimization until I know exactly what I am doing and then move on to save Link Building?

What other areas of SEO are there?

I'd focus on building better in-depth content than your competitors have, and spend time making friends online who might throw you a bone and share your content, so you have a chance of picking up those EDITORIAL LINKS you need to rank in Google with.

Initially fix all your Onpage issues. Choose the right keywords and let your site be filled with fresh contents. Eventually start building quality likns. Analyse your industry standards and formulate Offpage strategies accordingly. Just developing a good website alone is not worth, it needs proper marketing and engagement with targeted audience. Ranking a site is not that easy and it takes some considerable time.

    Good luck!

Linkbuilding consist of diffirent subjects. You have on page seo and off page seo.

I recommend starting with a website with very low competition. Use market samurai for keyword competition analysis because it's free. By a low competition keyword i mean 1000 or less searchs per month. Try to rank the website nr 1 for it's main keyword on google. You should have learned something by now.

If you ranked the website to position one you can handle more competitive keywords like 5000 searches a month. And so on...

It's important that you stick with one website or method like clickbank, cpa offers or adsense. Search this forum or moz.com blog for more information.
