I’ve been developing an online casino for a while now, I don’t have a casino license and don’t intend to get one until I made some money.

Therefore I had to develop the games from scratch by myself, I developed 2 popular games, Crash and Mines. I tested it throughly and made sure there is no way to exploit it.

But now I have some questions. I’m thinking of what kind of casino I should make this.

Should it be a crypto casino or maybe something niche like a CSGO/CS2 casino or even Roblox casino where people can bet with Roblox items that can then be sold for real money.

I think crypto casinos are too over saturated and my small casino with just 2 games wouldn’t attract many users.

I’ve been thinking a lot about making it a Roblox casino, since the competition is not as big but the player base is very decent, and recently 2 large Roblox casinos shut down.

Interesting take Roblox angle sounds risky but creative. It might be easier to get traction there if the space just opened up. Has anyone here seen success with niche item-based casinos?

if you have something to handle payments. we can talk about it

Crypto casinos are oversaturated and your two games won’t stand out so rather consider a hybrid approach where- crypto casino with a unique twist like gamified rewards tied to user-created content. This could pull in niche gamers without leaning on Roblox’s shaky ground.

Test the idea with a small beta to gauge interest before committing. Whatever you choose, prioritize a basic legal framework since unlicensed casinos rarely last.

You want a good idea? drop that project.

Having unlicensed casino, smells like a jail time.

It's very difficult to reach players. It's harder than we thought.

Did you ran an online casino? What type of casino did you run? A normal crypto casino?

Licenses & Regulations
Where will you be registered and what gambling licenses will you need?
Security & Compliance
What are your KYC/AML schemes and player data encryption?
Platform & Game Providers
Are you using a turnkey or custom solution, and which game provider integrations?
RNG & Fairness
Who are the RNG auditors, and what is their transparency report?

Running an unlicensed online casino is risky, but if you're considering options, here's a simple breakdown:

Crypto casinos offer anonymity and global access but face heavy competition and increasing regulations. CSGO/CS2 skin gambling has an existing betting culture but is heavily restricted by Valve, making payments tricky. A Roblox casino might seem tempting due to less competition and a young user base, but it’s extremely risky Roblox bans gambling sites, and targeting minors could lead to serious legal and ethical issues.

No matter which route you take, running an unlicensed casino means dealing with payment problems, fraud risks, and potential legal trouble. While you could try operating in gray-zone jurisdictions, the safest (and legal) approach is to get a proper license first otherwise, the risks could far outweigh any profits.

my honest advice do not waste time on things that will take you long time e.g. those roblox casino games if you're serious about launching it, those creative things take a lot of time and delay launching like crazy

look at pragmaticplay games, they are more casual, can target everyone, they are already coded there

Yes, and the biggest challenge remains how to reach customers. It's extremely competitive and there are many barriers to effective marketing.

A Roblox casino could be viable due to lower competition and a large player base, especially after recent shutdowns of major platforms. However, operating without a license is risky and illegal in many jurisdictions, especially targeting Roblox’s young audience. Crypto casinos are oversaturated, and CSGO/CS2 casinos face similar legal and market challenges. Prioritize licensing to avoid legal issues and build trust. Consider Roblox for its niche appeal but ensure compliance with gambling laws and Roblox’s policies.

Exactly
Running an unlicensed casino can give some legal headaches
Also, it will be harder to process and receive payments, explain those profits for local IRS, etc
Troublesome business model

Why run a BH casino? Casino's by their nature are BH, the house always wins by a predicabtble amount. Taking advantage of the rules, and not paying out at all is one huge con. You'll never go legit, and nobody will enjoy your "game" if you have the skills I don't understand why you wouldn't do things the right way? Its like your only wasting your own potential, and soap picking up potential too. lol

People are addicted to casino's, follow the rules and take advantage of that greed for fun and money. Treat it as a business, and not as a con, and you might actually make a living.

Get yourself an Anjouan license while you're working on your casino. The license is very important - you don't want to get in trouble.

An Anjouan gaming license is the best on the market at this time. Anjouan's license covers all types of gambling activities, simplifying and reducing costs for operators.

The cost of obtaining a license generally starts at around EUR 17,000. Additionally, there is an annual fee of EUR 2,000 for a Compliance Officer or Key Person Authorisation. The licence covers up to 2 web addresses. Additional addresses will incur an annual fee of EUR 500 each, charged with the license.

Each year, the certificate must be renewed at a cost of approximately EUR 13,300.

Also, waiting time until you obtain the license, is around 2 weeks.

I don't know how fast you can code the games, but you should think about payment processing too. Crypto payments, I believe can be integrated faster and you don't have to pay a lot of fee's, like for FIAT.

Good luck with your casino project!

Thank you, you’re right but my problem is, I don’t have enough money for a license. I need money to get started with.

Have you heard of "working" towards your dreams? lol Your just another wants the money doesn't want the effort hmmmf. boring. I've cleaned toilets and worked in a CAD company to keep my dreams ongoing. What kind of effort are you putting in? The best you can come up with is a rip off plan. Sounds like your really going places! lol

Building something from scratch, especially in a space as competitive as online gambling, takes guts. Developing your own games (Crash and Mines) is impressive, and I see why you're exploring niches like Roblox or CSGO. Less competition, passionate communities - it makes sense on paper.

But here's the harsh reality: getting players is the hardest part, even if we ignore all the legal and ethical stuff. You could have the slickest casino with the fairest games, but if nobody knows it exists, it’s just code collecting dust.

Right now, crypto casinos are dumping insane money into ads, affiliates, and streamer sponsorships...

Just my two cents. The tech side is cool, but the traffic problem is what kills 99% of these projects. Good luck, man, anyway!

What is your progress here? I am within the casino industry in the marketing field, I can help. DM
