I'm looking to get into Facebook... what do I need to know about accounts/verification/banning?

I've never done facebook before, but there are some groups that I want to join.

I've made 1 account and started joining groups, etc. No issues, but I want to know about Facebook banning etc. I would also like to make another few accounts, but I'm worried I'll be asked to verify them all or get banned. Are there safe practices? Ways to ensure I don't get banned? If I want to make several accounts will I need to buy proxies?
