    I personally use sedo.com and auctions.godaddy.com
At godaddy, if you lookup the whois on the domain you want you can contact the owner directly and sometimes get him to renew the domain and sell it to you for less than the auction.

To check if it's banned in google you can search for site:domainname.com
If there are no results, it may be banned or it might just have never been used.

you can buy domains from the forums listed above, but a good advice would be checking the Dropped or expired domains lists.

A good list for expired domains can be found in:

    justdropped.com

To check if its banned from google, just go to google and type: "Site:domainname" without the quotations, if there are results, its not banned, if there arent any results it DOESNT mean its banned, but it may be.

You can also use Archive.org to see what this expired domains used to look like in the passed years!

    Hope this helps
