I'm known as the "mobile man" locally. I strictly only offer SMS marketing for businesses where I give them the tools to build their own list to market to at their discretion.

Don't get me wrong, it's great, but I'm looking to expand on services offered, and I'm looking for suggestions on what else I could offer that would go hand in hand that could easily be outsourced or done on my own. I want to lean more towards outsourcing because I'm extremely busy, and any little hang up could break me right now.

I've thought of testing the waters with the following:
    Web design
SEO services (But which? Linking? G-places? PPC campaigns?)
    Mobile web site design

What else? I'm kind of stuck on those above, but I know there is more.

Also, how would some of you attack getting new clients just on SMS marketing? We have an amazing business model, and plan built, also a competitive price range. We hit cold calling and cold visits but those only convert so far. I was thinking about referrals from locals, giving them a % per paid client for the life of their contract, etc.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Go out there and get to know marketing consultants. Talk with them about the benefits of SMS marketing for their clients. Offer them a incentive to refer to you (such as 10% of the profit for each client). They are perfect because their clients trust their advice. Just make sure your product is good, otherwise you will run into trouble.

The product along with my private provider are impeccable. I'm glad you mentioned speaking with marketing consultants, because I've had the idea of doing so, I just think if I take it to them, they will easily just copy my local strategy and use it for themselves.

Let me know what you think on this topic..

Then don't tell them how you do it. Just show them your results (as in how much money it can make their clients) and offer to do it. Don't tell them the method. They probably don't care to know anyway!

you are known as the 'mobile man' so the obvious option for me is for you to build mobile websites. I just saw a cool share on here the other day about an easy script for this.

Stick with the mobile stuff. If they like what you are already doing, they will buy as long as your rate is affordable. EZ sell, when SEO services will be harder to upsell, as mobile and SEO are perceived as different marketing methods (which of course they are different) and it will be harder for a customer to buy SEO from his mobile guy, than to buy a mobile website from the mobile guy.

    Very true. Thanks.

Although, I do want to add value to my service, creating mobile sites would definitely be an advantage, I could also offer it as a free service to clients who buy into my SMS marketing platform.

Idk, there are so many things running through my head to make my service more valuable, ultimately increasing profit :)

Lots of ideas can be good but you need to keep it grounded. With a lot of ideas it can be very easy to have so many you never go after one well. Pick one like the mobile sites, and stick to it :D

I'm thinking of doing something similar and have been researching into SMS marketing recently

Do you use long code or short code numbers?
Care to share what platform your using (either here, or PM)

Would love to hear from you and good luck on your venture!

Short codes, and I'm using a private provider so I'm the only one on the list.

There are a couple places I may recommend if you PM me I'll shoot you the details.

Well I've got a custom built Platform for clients and for my management, but there are tons of startup white label sites. I think the cheapest would be txt180.
