As far as pushing you in the right direction, it kind of depends on what you feel your best assets are for online earning. Many people tend to start in the Associated Content subforum to make money while learning about online content writing, the basics of SEO, keyword usage etc.

The two staples of Blackhat Marketing on BHW seem to be e-whoring and content writing/spinning with Associated Content et al.
E-Whoring familiarizes you with the CPA model, and the content writing/spinning is a great intro to techniques you'll need for auto-blogging and Adsense Monetization.
In general these methods are pretty easy, well documented, and end up earning you a few bucks... but more importantly they teach you the value of your time, and introduce you to some core concepts and mindsets without a whole lot of investment or risk.
If you've got development/marketing skills, then it's worth your while to read some of the ebooks in the downloads section, and the posts in the Make Money section to get a crash course in the blackhat mindset.
There are all sorts of awesome people here on BHW, and the occasional scammer who sneaks in(they seldom last long here, the community is epic), so be sure to post, and ask questions.
Then from there you can decide which areas are most appealing to your interests and skillset. Above all, remember that time is money and you can only earn once you learn.
Be creative, be clever, and take risks(within reason ;-)) but above all, get out there and try stuff.
