Having a slow week. Wanted to build a list of places that are ideal for IM'ers (live like a king for relatively cheap, nice culture, decent net). I've purposely excluded Bali from this; It's a cesspool of vloggers all trying to make it big on youtube with their stupid bali videos.

    Please add in:
    Split, Croatia:

    Thailand (various regions):

    Munnar, India:

Can you think of others? I've been a bit lazy, but if you can post rental prices for a decent apartment would be awesome as well.

Probably eastern Europe like Poland or 1 of the Baltic states, good living standards and at the same time really cheap rent, food, internet etc

Split is nice if you got a way to evade taxes, if you are planing to pay them prepare to lose 40%+ of your income.

That websites gets all sorts of things wrong. Some cities they have a very low internet speed when the city has dozens of times faster internet easily available. Some cities are ranked high for freedom of speech when you can get years in prison of saying certain things, while cities that don't do that are ranked lower.

I don't know about Austin TX as far as living cost goes because it is fairly expensive as it is a popular rising city.

However, you are right that Texas can be a good state in general, as the majority of it has a lower cost of living

add catalonia, spain to the list.
    -weather is great
    -foods great
-internet is fast (300MB in my house)
-housing is cheap: before the recession every spaniard got a loan from the bank to build their dream home, then the recession hit and almost no-one could pay it back leaving countless large dream homes on the market that are very affordable.
    -nice culture/great history
    -beautiful place overall.

downside is that pretty much everyone outside of barcelona speaks only spanish.

Great place, but odd to say that im moving to the UK from here this very week.

I live in Tenerife. Costs about $2,000 p/m for a decent comfortable life. Internet is 150Mbps up/down some places.

You could spend $1,000 p/m and still be comfortable or $5,000 p/m and eat at the finest places.
