I work 2 jobs. LOVE my morning job (I work as a leasing agent/assistant manager). Hate my evening job (customer service at LasikPlus .. fml). Well, my boss at my morning job just called to inform me that they want me to work 40 hours with them with a LOT of overtime which means I have to quit my evening job. Well, ever since I got this call (which was about 20 minutes ago) I've been sitting at my desk thinking that I want to pull a Jim Brewer and be all 'Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you're cool .. I'm OUT!' .. except, I'd be a lot nicer and I just want to get the fuck out.

WHAT DO I DO?! I only have 2.5 more hours left at my evening job anyway. Decisions, decisions. Should I just stay until my shift is over or come up with a lame excuse and leave and tell them I have to quit?

PS. No one even has a clue that I'm quitting and subsequently NOT coming in tomorrow.

PPS. I'm getting drunk tonight. Can't wait! That hasn't happened in over 6 months.

First job seems like it is having good signs of growth in one way or another.. That's what you should look for atm.. Depending on you're situation and how much you make doing marketing I couldn't give advise.. Go with what feels right though..

Well, so far with BH, I've only made about $40 .. but that's because I was working 64 hours a week and didn't have time to invest. Now, with only working 1 job, I'll have plenty of time to do what I want which, I think, will make me more prosperous in the long run.

The second job wasn't going anywhere. I've been here a year and the whole time, the company has gone through several layoffs and there is a company wide salary freeze so no opportunities for growth, promotions, or raises. Whereas, at my other job, the owner of the apartment complex wants me to be his protege and buy properties like he does. So .. I'm definitely happy about the change. I just can't decide whether or not I should finish out my shift for the evening, or just quit and go home. lol

I would agree with this guy and this only comes from exp. don't burn any unnecessary bridges you never know what could happen. They could have you at 40 hours a week for 2 weeks and then cut your hours again.

you are getting drunk tonight, right? Start while you are at work! Do it flagrantly, liquor right on your desk, and act like its no big deal. When they get mad, be like "What!?! I'm an American! If I can't have a drink at my desk, then take this job and ____!!"

    just an idea.

I wouldn't burn any bridges, either. The ass you kick today may be the one you have to kiss tomorrow.

this is probably too late but, what goes around comes around, you tell your evening job tofuck off, you have basically closed one of your job connections. Unless your evening job boss screwed you over then you have a reason to but still, I think you should be professional.

    just my two cents

    LOL!

These kind of posts are what make the lounge so entertaining

Def take the job as the property manager! Real estate is the basis of all wealth. Become skilled at IM and invest your earnings in your own multifamily properties. That way when your IM methods get sucked dry, you'll still have a solid, fundamental passive income!

If this guy is willing to take you under his wings to make you his protege, then def take him up on his offer! His real world experience is priceless.

What size multifamily properties do you manage?

First of all I'm impressed that you have 2 jobs, and now as I understand it you get a chance to develope in your morning job with new challenges, that sound like a career opportunity, and that's always great to get those, they don't hang on trees you know, "what hang on trees today, you can beg for tomorrow, be quietly thankful", but most important for you is to ask yourself, what makes me happy, what do your gut feeling tell you, and then follow through, do your best. As some of the guys say, don't be to smart, its not worth it, and bad karma also. Be a gentleman, personally I would play a little bit that I'm sad to leave, even though they can kiss my sorry ass. By the way whats the point of being ungrateful;)

I hope what ever you do, that it is a good choice, and that you also will have more time in IM so you can become real happy:) BH way!!

    gl mate
    sincerely

You just need to make sure that you aren't leaving them hanging. Explain that your day job is taking more time and paying more and that you have to give up the night job, but appreciate the time you spent there. 2 weeks notice is a standard, but most employers will let you leave sooner.
The goal is to keep them as a good reference in case you need it.

Keep your 1st job and keep the money coming in. Cut back from 64 hrs to 40 hrs and focus the other 24 on IM... Just my 2 cents
