I'm downloading windows 7, anyone tired it?

Downloading it from a torrent, should be done by the time I wake up with any luck, so I should be installing it on to my desktop tomorrow some time. I'm looking quite forward to it, everyone's reviews I've read have said, it's faster then VISTA by a lot and a lot more stable.

Anyone here on BHW use / used windows 7?
What did you think of it?
Is it faster?
Is it better then vista?
Is it better then XP?

I cant wait to try it either, But im probably going to pay for it legit. Something about pirate OS just dont fit right with me . but hey whatever works .. i will post back my experience after i buy..p.s i plan to upgrade from vista but have used all microsoft OSystems .. just not 7 yet !
 
I actually haven't heard a single good thing from a person (not online review) who switched so I'm not gonna touch it for a while probably. Do let us know though.
 
At some point I'll try it.. but going to wait a bit.. and YES.. going for a legit copy of the OS.
 
I've been using Win 7 for approx. 2 months now after using Vista. Hands down a better iteration of what should have been Vista, imnsho.

Is it better than XP? It depends on what you compare things on. Remember, XP is what? 8 years old? Built for hardware that allowed you to run it with like a 266Mhz system, with 128 MB of ram?

Personally, Microsoft is using Win 7 to really imo push people into using 64-bit. Which once all the software I use and drivers I have will correctly run on 64-bit I'm stuck using 32-bit.

I personally think it's a nice looking O/S with a bunch of new features that at this point are nice to have. I say give it a shot...
 
Faster, better, really ;) Not a single crash yet in a week, all updates coming down fast, no freezing sometimes like in vista
 
You should have searched deep. There is a way you can get free hosting and domain for a Code at justhost.com. you just need to verify your card.
 
I haven't use vista for more than 2 hours of test because... ok you know why ! :D

After some issues with a computer on Xp I try 7 on it... Just move all my windows computers to 7 now... It isn't the revolution but it does its job welll... "stable", "light" (compare to vista), no much compatibility issue (exept for chrome)... Ok it fucked me a Hdd w a linux dual boot but... It's ok
 
The best Windows ever. Have been using the Ultimate version it is very fast to work with especially with dual core cpu's. The driver database is also xecellent.

All praises no complaints. finally a good work done by Microsoft. + getting it free is also good. :)
 
WINDOWS 7 FTW. i used vista when it first got out and let me tell you the problems, i turned to w7 3 months before it got out let me tell you the excitement.
 
I've been running ultimate on an acerbic aspire one netbook for about 3 weeks and it runs like a champ. If you're not sure about jumping in feet first, you can install it ona VHF. Virtual pc is free from ms now.

Faster than vista, great updates really good I like it and I will stay at it also the security is ok at me and there are no crashes like in vista I did have.

U really should use it if u are already downloading it.

Thanks guys, I'm going to install it on my desktop (Needs a O/S), if it's a good copy/works well, I'll consider putting it on my laptop and when I build up my second desktop (Need some time to build it) I'll stick it on there as well, it sounds great. :D
 
I'm running it now and have been since the beta. Personally, I love it. Runs flawlessly and I havent had to install a single driver. Best. OS. Ever. :D
 
I install my copy few days ago ( 32bit )! And i really love it i have c2d 2.4ghz, 4 gb ram, wd 640gb black! And it's rock!!! :p
 
I used the RC version a few months ago and thought it was brilliant, worlds ahead of Vista!
 
I also want to install it.

Anyone can tell me how much space does it take after installation.
