i'm done 'selling' on ebay

i'm so done with egay/gaypal

so this month i tried doing some white hat auction selling ebay.... i found a hot hot item and sold about 200 units. was i selling wii's? NO. was i selling playstations? No. was I selling camera's? no.

I was selling a freaking Book!

how does gaypal/egay thank me? they limit my account 6 times in 1 month. they ask me for shipping tracking codes, ask me for the names of my suppliers, ask for invoices.

we are talking about an egay account that is about 5 years old with 100% positive feedback.

They even wanted invoices, tracking on items not related to ebay auctions.....

THEY WANTED INVOICES AND SHIPPING TRACKING CODES ON TWO OF MY AFFILIATE COMMISSION/PAYOUTS...

I asked on of the pee-on customer service rep how they expected me to provide invoices regarding the affiliate payments...she said that they (gaypal) would have to contact the affiliate companies and see if their items were received. TALK ABOUT THE LEFT HAND NOT KNOWING WHAT THE RIGHT HAND IS DOING.


I asked the lady this morning after an hour and a half on the phone, 'what can i do to prevent this in the future'

she said, 'there's nothing you can do to prevent this'.

i'm done with paypal. any $$ is getting transfered the hell out. i'm switching all my aff payouts to go to my bank accounts. there is only 1 thing that ebay is good for, and it's not for selling.

i feel bad for the white hat folks that rely on egay for some sort of income. i feel bad for the people that think that if they play by the (ebay's) rules that somehow they will get rewarded with some sort of loyal customer service.

I'm sick of hearing all the buyer protection crap being played as I wait for a pee on rep to get on the phone and tell me that they can't do anything to help me, and then hang up on me as they transfer me to their supervisor....i'm sick of the lack of respect, i'm sick of my account getting shut down once a week, i'm just done.

Anybody that keeps their money in gaypal is a moron and is just begging to get fucked over.

While there's not much I can do about gaypal. I'm writing my congressman. God knows the gov't are always looking to sink their teeth into something....and if can't sue egay, then maybe i can complain to my senator/representative....it might not be much...but at least it's something.

cuz there's not much more i can do except just pull my money out.

I'm done with ebay too, its just so stupid the direction they are going now.

It is just mass fail.
 
with the amount of layoffs occurring with these large dot coms, you'd think that they would focus their limited resources on more pertinent issues. What about ensuring customer loyalty, satisfaction and retention? What a joke. They don't need us.

Would love to wake up one morning and see every blog and rss feed ebay sitepointing to a new player.

Ton, unlucky pal. Same thing happened to me mate. Only shit thing with me was, Gaypal had around 6k onhold and had to wait 6 months. Fuck them. I was selling legit physical good, gave tracking. gave even my wholesaler (which is like telling your aff network your source if traffic) and yet them kept repeatingly limited. Even with a BUSINESS REGISTERED here in the uk as a corp and all the numbers everthing sent to them. Bunch of wankers mate, they also fraudsters. Reason i say they are fraud. Did you ever read about them having people send their fake good in after thewir accounts get limited so they could check if they were fake, then they would sell them off on their sister wholesale site!!!!!
 
Remember BlackHat University's ads? "Because e bay was meant to be screwed" or something like that. Join the war against ebay and i think we all know what that is.
 
eBay is good for buyers, but not so good for sellers, if the ratio would ever balance then that would be glorious, since eBay would die. As long as there are buyers there will be sellers, and as long as there are sellers and buyers then eBay will be a healthy business. Sad really for us.
 
unbelieveable crap from that company... I recently sold something via CL (although it was listed on ebomb as well - I quickly ended it) - took $100 less for via CL it b/c I didn't want Egay to get a $50 cut not to mention the gaypal cut... they sound like they are trying to be a mini-dictator and control every aspect - down to your $$$$
B$$$K U E$GAY!!! (the other letters cost to much to post)...

Perhaps they are really just fishing for people to give them leads - so they can moonlight on their own (you obviously were doing something well and right...they just wanted to datamine you... how unethical can they get?)
 
I'm in the same boat as you man, I was making about $500 a day legit and I got slapped. I don't think you have to totally do away with egay. They still have a third party checkout option I think, though there is talk of them doing away with all third party checkout entirely by mid 09. They keep touting that buyer protection crap, but they simply want to monopolize the money exchange. If anyone knows a good third party checkout service that works with egay I would really appreciate it.

the best way to not getting limited is to call them and give them some sh*t on the phone. it always work for me.

wow thats crazy. i actually sell A LOT of stuff on ebay, i think im getting roughly a grand a week or so with it. I never did affiliates or any of the other stuff you guys do, I just have inventory...I know that SOMETIMES...dude...ebay can be a classic bi**h...seriously. One dude negative repped us and had us so deep in a hole we almost gave up on it...paypal is sneaky too, but we get them on the back end lol...but having government intervention on ebay...dude...that's gonna suck, because they are gonna ask for irs forms and all this nonsense and i dont think they should have a say in public spheres such as this...

...or anything else for that matter...we all know the irs is...*thats a whole OTHER thing*


either way...there is NO place else in the world you can have so many buyers interested in products at one time...at least I haven't seen it.
 
Think about it this way. Ebay will have to go down and another kingdom will rise. Just sucks the in between time.

This will get the limit lifted, but it will not stop it from happening again. I have been limited 2 times in 6 months, and both times I gave them a call. I don't think that either time my account would have been restored if I didn't pick up the phone and bother to make that call. I guess they figure if you aren't worried enough to pursue it you were prolly a scammer anyway.
 
its been a while since i sold on ebay- a few years that is but god has it gone this bad? i rmemeber the days qxl was good and nochex for payments lol! aah the good old days!!
 
Imagine if Ebay employees dominate niches with their insider information. Then when a seller steps on their toes they tie them up with paypal bullshit to keep their pockets happy. What happens when their niche's run dry?? Well that's easy lets just shut down a seller and make him give up his sources for his goods. Just another conspiracy thought of mine.
