    Hi there,
I am currently writing a blog post about successful IM businesses that were sold for 1 milion or more. I now have about 4-5 examples (like http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/05/recruit-quandoo/) but I would like to include more, google searches did not give me the results I want so I decided to ask you guys to throw some links at me.

    Thanks.

Thanks. I am looking more for the underdogs though, so that the audience can see simple business models and inventions succeeding. Youtube/facebook/snapchat is a bit from another league and don't get the inspiration flowing for most of the readers.

That may be a little hard to come by. I know I wouldn't share that kind of information publicly but some may see some benefit in sharing.

Maybe shoot meathead1234 a note and see if he can point you in the right direction and make your searching a little easier as he works in that world.

I think there are plenty of success stories freely available online, I have read a ton of them but unfortunately I did not bookmark them.

I think I misunderstood you thinking you wanted people that have online businesses that are here.

My apologies, I should have paid a little more attention to your request.

I wouldn't say Quandoo was an IM business, but if that's the sort of thing you are looking for you can find a lot more examples on the same site.

TechCrunch also operates CrunchBase (you can see links to it at the top of every page).

On CrunchBase, go to the investor leaderboard and then filter with 'Exits' and 'Acquisitions'

Here's a link where I have already applied those filters:

    https://www.crunchbase.com/investor-leaderboard/exits/acquisitions/global

Basically, that's a list of well over 3000 acquisitions, organized by VC firm.

It's not a list of IM acquisitions, but I would categorize a lot of them in the same vein as Quandoo.

If you're looking for similar things online, use the word 'acquisition' rather than 'sale' or 'sold' - it's the term the investment sector uses so will give you much better results.

Look up ZVUE Corporation they bought plenty of entertainment websites a few years ago including putfile.com (now runs incero.com) ebaumsworld (now runs smash.com) yourdailymedia.com (now runs viralnova.com) dorks.com funmansion.com - every one of them above 7 figures. Gave you actual projects where I know it so you can even contact them directly. At incero - ask for Gordon.
