I'd first like to say that I'm back (for the most part), as I've been a casual viewer of BHW for the past few months and I've watched as my home (BHW) has slipped into a bunch of pointless comments and useless threads asking about how much BlackHatWorld is worth... BackHatWorld is worth what you put into it and take away from it. If you're going to sit there and complain and be an ass to others, you're not putting anything into the forum and you're for sure not taking anything out... (I will get back to this point a little later on)

I can't stand the those threads titled "Two weeks and $12,000!!!" and then you open it and the OP is explaing how he is a student and needs to pay rent and tuition and if he doesn't make $12,000 in two weeks he'll be on the street... and as much I can't stand people like that, I can understand the naivety and stupidity of their post because I was in that place at one point...

I joined as a 15 year old kid and I acted like one. One of the first threads I created was to ask for a download link for photoshop (HERE) (which is on the DNS list by the way), and I specifically wanted a mediafire link... see how sad I was.

I know what it's like to be the person thinking "I'm too young to do offline marketing. They're not going to buy their website from a 17 year old..." and right when I started, the thought that "I'm too young to even do internet marketing." I know what's it like to have parents who hate that you don't have a "real job". I know the struggles of a young internet marketer.

I really knew very little about internet marketing or even life in general when I first started out, but fortunately there were patient people along the way that were willing to answer my stupid questions and really put the information in front of me that allowed me to get to where I am today. I wasn't spoonfed (in most cases). I did take action and came to realize early on that you need to add your own twist and your own innovations to the methods shared here to make them take off. The point is this: I was once the person asking the ridiculously stupid questions. And more often than not, you were [are] the person asking the ridiculously stupid questions (some more than others).

I know where I was and I can see how far I've come, and depending on where you are in your internet marketing journey, you can see how far you've come... It only takes one person to change the world. I was going to list them all off, but I'm sure you can think of a few people that challenged and significantly changed the status quo. Let's raise up people on BHW that will be game changers. In internet marketing, but also in their friendships, relationships, and overall lives.

I've decided to take a stand and do my part in making this forum a more knowledgeable and uplifting place. While I'll still have my smart remarks, I will trying not to bash people for their aweful english or n00b threads. Instead of straying away from the forum because frankly, it's slipping, I have decided to come back and contribute quality and encourage others to do the same. I must say, I won't be posting methods left and right, but I will be contributing with helpful posts here and there as well as some threads (one coming soon actually). BUT THIS REQUIRES ACTION BY YOU! (no matter where you are in your internet marketing journey)

    My Challenge:

If you are a n00b (new to the forum / internet marketing): DON'T USE THE SEARCH BOX! (Did he just say that?!) Yes I did. While I know the search box is the place to go to search the forum (and you should always go their first), I've been in your shoes. I know that sometimes when you're looking for the best SEO service on blackhatworld and you type in "seo" or "best seo" to the search box you get, "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." This is why I tell people to search google for "site:blackhatworld.com [term]" as when you search google for site:blackhatworld.com best seo, you will get roughly 112,000 results and a link to the thread where that's already been answered (third one in the SERPS). So do us a favor, DON'T USE THE SEARCH BOX, but use google and seach site:blackhatworld.com (which tells google you only want to search for that term on blackhatworld.com) and then the next stuff you stype in is what you normally would type into the search box.

Also, instead of asking what works, realize that thousands of people on this forum are making money from things they have learned from the forum. That has to say something! This forum has incredibly powerful and profitable information on it. Do your google search for a topic your interested in such as "site:blackhatworld.com make money with youtube" and then go from there. If you ever are thinking about making a thread asking for the best methods, type in "site:blackhatworld.com best methods" and see how that term is on already on BHW about 14,000 times... the information is all here you just need to find it.

If you are a "vet" (someone who has been around for a while): I've talked to a lot of people off of the forum and they explain to me that if they share their method on BHW, it will just become saturated and then they won't be making any money any more. While that can be the case in some instances, if you look at some of the really solid shares (this is just one example) you'll notice that it's ok to use the method in general terms. You don't need to give your niche or any specific niches to use the method on. You simply can outline the steps you've taken and leave it up in the air for the person viewing to implement it with his own niche / twist. That way you are sharing incredibly value information, but never really sacrificing your own earnings. (And you should have multiple income streams anyway, so losing one wouldn't even matter, but that's a different topic for a different day)

Also, if you see someone asking ridiculously stupid questions either A) reference this post or better yet B) attempt to understand that you (or at least I) was at that point before and wanted more than anything for someone to simply answer the question... or C) just leave the page because it's going to get bashed enough by other people and probably deleted anyway.

This is what it boils down to: Let's start a positive movement of helpful, knowledgable, and challenging posts that spiral BHW beyond what it is have ever been.
    ARE YOU WITH ME?!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just as a side note as this is my first thread back and I'm sure people are wondering. I haven't achieved my goal of $1,000,000 profit in the past four years (though I have achieved that in revenue), but I am incredibly satisfied with where I am. Internet marketing became like work to me when I was aiming for a million. Whenever it becomes like work you should really sit back and evaluate what you're doing. I stick with the old saying, "do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life." I was so consumed by profits and 'making it' that I really wasn't enjoying myself. That's why I took a six month or so break from BHW and internet marketing just to live life and see its goodness. I've grown a lot personally and spiritually over the past six months or so and I'm coming back to BHW and internet marketing more rejuvenated than ever. I'm happy to be back.

Rant threads annoy me more than newbies looking for information to be honest... But welcome back.

    I remember this guy.

I don't remember what, but I was searching something in Google and your thread "$50/day with Youtube" referred me here.

    Glad to see you again.

This echos my sentiments and observations about BHW 100%.
This used to be THE place for cutting edge IM, but alas a simple SWOT analysis (if we are honest about it)
shows that the rate of top quality independant posts has declined rapidly over this past 6 months or so.

Having said that, BHW seems to be diversifying somewhat,
and the new Marketplace could well become the cash cow that keeps BHW alive and well.

OP, you will also notice the membership has increased to over 500,000 members and still growing rapidly.
No surprise then that the quality has been in of danger of becoming diluted,
but it is refreshing to see that some of the older members (like yourself KK) come back home to where you belong,
especially after your recent spiritual journey etc... and put your life into perspective.

Thanks for sharing your long post in this thread, and I know that many others will be glad you are back,
and will feel replenished and refreshed with your return, perhaps BHW will indeed become the go to place for SEO once again.

    Good Luck

Not incredibly long... and while I'm not a terrific writer, I do enjoy writing. So however long it took to get my thoughts down (maybe an hour and two). It was more of a spur of the moment post as my other threads are more planned out.

As I was talking to someone on skype yesterday they said, "I really thank you for your advise but u r right I have to wait a little, by the way You really type fast..." (that's a quote) so does that count for anything? Hah.

Anyway, I hope you found it insightful / inspiring. Have a good one and stay tuned.

Great post, and inspiring story. I look forward to your future posts. Also, love that you posted your method of search BHW through Google, I actually use the google search all the time, for the very reason you posted....(sometimes I'll search BHW for something, and it'll come up with "no results"), I noticed doing certain searches on Google, I'd get results at BHW, so I figured there had to be a way around it, and that does work!

Nothing makes me more angry and annoyed when some member of this forum tells a newer member not to try a particular niche because it is "saturated". That is simply language for, "There is money to be made". I because a full time IMer on saturated niches!

Anyway, small rant over. Great post OP. I also agree, the search function is not the best place to search. Cheers.

Here is something I never understood...

    A. Noob comes along and ask something generic like "Hey guys...what is the best SEO tool ect"

    Responses

    1. Thats what the search feature is for...
    2. Google it

I mean BHW is like a wealth of information and yes I agree they could Google it or Search for it here.
However wouldn't that turn BHW into a wiki more so than a community and discussion based forum? Does every post have
    to be scrutinized?

Let's be happy they came here to ask instead of going somewhere else.
Negativity scares people away. And that is not good for anyone.

KraftyKyle has a good point and yes I am with you.

    Cheers,
    Unclemike
