I'M A NOOB - Guide Me Pls

I'm a noob here. Just trying to learn things. I am trying to go through all the posts before requesting anything, but still felt it would be nice to ask someone while searching too.

I have just created a blog at blogger (ideas2makemoneyonline.blogspot.com) inspired by one of the BHW members thread. I gathered some articles from E*z*ine and used Unique*Content*Creater on those articles and made the posts there. Now, how should i monetize this. Is it even possible to monetize this. I AM A NOOB and this is my first ever blog or site. OR is it necessary to have a DOT COM website to make money? I do not intend to make $$$$ but just a single cent to get started and get me going.

How to make people visit this blog. I am planning for Adsense. Any directions, where and how to get started on these are greatly appreciated.

NOOBs like me can thank me for this and VETERANS do not go mad reading this. I understand that i should be searching here and i am doing it simultaneously. I am just expecting you VETERANS to point me in the right directions or even point me to the threads which speaks about this.

we've all been there.

Well, I've never really worked with blogs but I think owning your own wordpress blog
would have better potential thanks to all the plug ins and customization possibilities. Seems like you can do more SEO owning your own domain. Use SENuke to get some search engine traffic. Get links from other peoples blog and forums. And of course put articles out there. Waiting for search engine and link traffic just takes too long for me though.

I am sorry, but this is exactly why this board needs to be invite only or something. I understand we were all newbs once, But this question is what everyone is asking, old and new.

The bottom line is traffic=money, Utilize the search feature before asking the same thing that has been asked 1000's of times.

Mate!!! I m not a Noob as far as computers are concerned, been using them for 15 years now. I am a programmer also a freelancer. But never got into "money making online" kinda thing ever. Just getting to know things. And I know, its never too late for anything.. Right?

I'd recommend something self-hosted rather than that blogspot blog. What if they shout your blog down after all your hard work (happened to me)? It costs almost nothing to buy a domain and host your own WP blog on there, for instance. Also, Mr. Noobs suggestion of putting articles out there is spot on. Write your own or outsource a mass of articles and post them on the directories. If you're not trying to get into the SERP's for something too competitive (make money online) it's AMAZING how effective this strategy is...

Thanks very much for your valuable suggestion there, vivicia. I understand that i should get one!!!

The only way around these kind of posts is to offer a detailed Wiki or a search function that actually works properly. It takes a lot of effort to write the wiki of course but it is so much easier to tell a noob that they will have 90% of their questions answered if they read it before posting and actually require them to quote a piece of the wiki in their first 10 posts or something. That way you know they read what they needed to but have follow up questions.

People are still going to bitch when this guy pays $10, $100 or $1,000 a month and still posts a question like this. A large majority of the noobs are out of their league when they join here but they aren't going to know it until they make their first post.

And M2Money, you will find alot better information by utilizing the search feature, (and wont have to deal with rude members). There is much to be learned from this forum. Just search your question or keyword and have a feild day going through the answers. We all have asked the same question you have once or twice in our new days, But we have all learned it easier to seek and find, and if you dont find, then you ask.

For example, I bought an aged domain that had never had anything on it (check wayback to see) for $4.95 for one year with Netsperms. I then got an el cheapo hosting package for one domain for a year on eGay ($9). Then I set up BANS on the site (you can get that at a "discount" here). Then I had 20 articles written on the site's keywords (about $80, but you can write them yourself). Submitted them to EZA with my handy-dandy anchors in there (free). Then I waited. The first week just a trickle of traffic, second week more, third week more still. By the time my site was a month old I'd already earned about $30, and now that site alone almost 2 years later makes me like $300/month, every month. The only changes I've made are BANS updates (about 10 minutes in 2 years)

If you can code, you should offer your services in exchange for some training or a method. A lot of people would take you up on your offer. Someone sends you a program they want made or improved and in exchange they give you their method or they design you a site and help you get accepted into affiliate networks. I remember seeing the zip/email submit program that is selling for $1000 bucks. Big ideas like that would make you a lot of dough. Your probably not going to get fuck all from the members here, not to piss on your parade, but unless you offer them something your not going to get any ground breaking methods outside of the money making forum.
