I'm a newbie who wants to make money on facebook

    I heard that if you have a big fan base of at least 60k, it would be possible to monetize.


    But in order to do that, is it essential to build up that fanbase with the niche I'm going to

    promote later on?


    For example, would it be a bad idea to post stuff like mystery, funny pics in the first place

    and after getting more than 60k, I suddenly post diet & weight loss stuff with a review

    website link that has an affiliate link incorporated?

    It is very important to grow your page to 150k+ followers. Only then you can start thinking about monetizing, which is fairly easy if you're going to use adsense or likes.com

    Building an audience around one niche and marketing for another is a terrible idea, the post will get low engagement and a large majority of your followers won't see it as a result. Honestly you sort of missed the boat on Facebook, I think buzzfeed beat it to death and Facebook is now making it very hard. You can still make money with Facebook but it's not going to be easy.
