    Hey everyone,

I made my first affiliate site, as an amazon affiliate reviewing christmas gifts. I just bought the domain a month ago, published the website about a week ago and am posting a couple new reviews each day. Obviously I started a bit late and need to get traffic fast if I want to make $ with the site this season. What are your suggestions?

If you're trying to get traffic via SEO and are new to SEO then my advice would be to target Christmas 2013.

You have less than 2 months which is nowhere near enough time for most SEOers. If your SEO skills are anything short of expert I feel the risk of not getting your site to the 1st page is too high for the amount of work required to rank the site in time.

I'm not trying to be negative, but most people who target seasonal trends begin planning much further in advance (like 12+ months in advance). However, if you want to "go for it", then reverse-engineer the backlink structure of the youngest sites you can find ranking in high competitive niches and copy their strategy.

You could try the standard array of SEO tactics between now and Christmas. But if you're not seeing results by 2-4 weeks before Christmas, you should probably start just blasting your site with backlinks, maybe 2 weeks before Christmas. The idea here is to get your site to rank and to rank quickly, with no regard for whether or not your site gets banned in the long run. Buy a handful of high PR (PR 4-7) links to build authority, then blast a ton of SE Nuke or XRumer blast links, filtering some of them through Web 2.0.

This used to be a really common strategy in the Viagra market. People would just blast the hell out of their sites to get them to the top of the search engines. They'd only be on top for a day or two before their sites got banned, since Google manually reviews those keywords. But for the day or two that they're up, they make a killing - More than enough to justify rinsing and repeating the process.

You can use the same strategy. Unlike Viagra, Google probably isn't manually watching the keywords you're targeting, so you might have more of a time window before your site gets banned. So, that's an alternative to targeting Christmas 2013 like other people are talking about. Go about it a "safe" way first, but it you're not seeing results 2 weeks before Christmas, say screw it and just blast the hell out of your site and see if it works.

Thanks very much for the reply. That is exactly what my intention was. I'm posting quality articles daily , totally 'white hat' SEO right now. Later on, I wanted to do exactly what you said..blasting it with no regard for whether its banned or not (as its specifically geared to christmas 2012...will be useless after this year).

Now the real noob in me will come out and I would appreciate if you could elaborate here, as this is the exact information I was looking for...you said "Buy a handful of high PR (PR 4-7) links to build authority, then blast a ton of SE Nuke or XRumer blast links, filtering some of them through Web 2.0."

I know was PR is , but I'm not familiar with buying links. Where would I start for that?
I know what SENuke and XRumer are, never used em, where would I turn to get some senuke or xrumer blasts (since im unlikely to actually buy those software at the moment)? And what do you mean by filtering them thru web 2.0?

    Thanks so much.

I may be wrong but he most likely means point the links to random blogs or profiles on site such as wordpress or squidoo or blogger
as in have like 100 links pointing to a blog you setup on wordpress then on that blog you link to your site. The links will empower the wordpress blog, and in turn, the wordpress blog will empower your site.

I have never done it but would a 301 redirect work for a "quick" ranking?

If you've got some money to invest, check out the BST section. Instead of buying all this software and attempting to go at it in a short two months, let some respected service providers rank your website for you (even if its just temporary).
