Hi, I'm a college student and I have access to where I can create blogs through the college website and have a nice edu at the end. I was thinking about hosting my authority site onto here. I posted a duplicated article 4 days ago for a keyword onto the blog and it was on page 3. I would tell you what college, but I don't want you all up in my business. Just know that it's very popular. I was thinking about using it as a web 2.0, but it's not the same. It uses Moveable type btw. Is this a good plan?

How about setting up a service where members can post articles to a blog you setup. Edu links are very popular!

    I'm a guy!

Am I the only one confused by the above?

Dude/Dudette, you have so many options available it is almost unbelievable.

I would be using it for my own sites personally... write (outsource) articles and link to your sites.

I have the same thing but my university main site has only a pr of 8. Will it benefit at all making a blog there?

Here is an example of how it is set-up.

    ******.edu (pr8)
blog.******.edu (pr6) (my blog will have this sub domain in front of it.

    Is it worth it?

Lmao that name is a long story. It's just an alias my friends made for me and I just went with it.

So are you saying use the blog as my site? Also any places you recommend to where I can outsource articles?

How are so many university websites being compromised? Forget the .edu blogs... figure out how to sell the guide to getting in that position!

Here is what I think would do. Turn it into a normal university blog and in this blog, tell about your travels around the internet. Get a dozen pages, then start a service offering to give a website review of sites on your edu blog.

You can approach these as a content review or a technical review about web site structure, features, ect. If you take the second route you could literally put up a review about any site or page you want to. A content review might have to be about a particular kind of site or theme.

At the end of each review, 1 review per page, place a standard box with stats in it. PR, number of pages in Google, alexa traffic and rank, you know the crap I mean, whatever fluff you want and then a synopsis box. This synopsis box is where your customer can put a paragraph about their site to make the link contextually related.

This way you can sell a review on a edu blog with related and customizable anchor text.

I would suspect that you could charge 50 to 100 a year for the page to stay up. I get $45 per year for a PR 4 footer link with related text, not a page of content, yours is an full page on a .EDU domain dedicated to their web site.

You could also offer reviews to local businesses frequented by the college crowd. i am sure they would love a positive review of their business on a college campus blog.

You can also write articles about CPA offers or write articles to promote any small business or web site.

I would mix the posts up, use an post scheduler and always keep a week or two in the tank. I would do a website pickapart, followed bay a local bar or club, then maybe something about a college campus happening, a blood drive, a movie, your dog was at the vet ect. and just switch the posts up so it is not the same old thing. It really needs to look like you are just a college kid blogging about his life. Just try to make as much money as you can doing it.

I would make all the web site reviews to a specific template so people will always find the same info in the same place when they read the reviews. If you do content you are going to have to actually read the stuff, and then maybe lie to keep a customer. If you do a technical review it is as simple as running down a checklist and doing a little research. Tell the customer that you to a technical eval, and they have the synopsis block for their message.

You could even say something like, I contacted the owner, and this is what he says his site is about:
    quote the customers paragraph.

What you have is a web property of real value, don't piss it off at fiverr. Start a business.
