If you Were Owner of Google ?

If I owned Google, in short, I would look into the mirror and say to myself, You are not God.

I honestly do not think that has ever happened with the current leadership.

What do you mean “if”?

So, which one of them are you? (also, I knew it).

If you Were Owner of Google?

What would you have done for SEO Marketers & for PPC marketers??

& What Else you would have done ??

I'm going to assume you mean that if I became owner after already learning about SEO.

I would:

- Make fact checking a ranking factor. Misinformation is a problem and shouldn't be in the SERPs.
- Make content king. As a content writer/creator, good content deserves to be in the SERPs & deserves to be read/seen.
- On the flip side, make Scrapebox/GSA/Ranker X blasts able to rank aged domains.
- Cap the amount of keywords billion dollar company websites (Home Depot, GNC, etc) can rank for. Give the little guy a slice of the cake.

That will be an open vote/discussion in true BHW democratic mode, let the people decide, just vote for whatever I say, and your free to vote.
Make your island 0% income tax on internet money and I will be your first resident

I get that google has large amount of reserves
But that's largely a huge manual job more or less

How would you go abouts this very first point though?
That could potentially improve job opportunity all across the world actually, that's an interesting thought.

What's stopping the little guy being a billion dollar company's secondary site or alt sites ?
They surely have the resource to make 1000 sites in those genres and niches
that cake is still gonna probably going go towards them

Yes. But I want to help people. :( So I put myself in their shoes...
Your thought process is good, but think what would happen if every AI site started ranking in 2022! Google will become the largest waste dump on the planet.

To be honest, AI could probably handle some of this.

But off the top of my head maybe the AI could filter/flag what it believes to be misinformation and a group of team members that I hire would be responsible for manually going through the results & confirming/denying.

I want to say that their primary business would prevent them from really focusing on something like that. Not that it isn't possible or some wouldn't do that.

The reason a lot of those companies have such high DR/UR is because of how much traffic they get. They also get literally free backlinks because of who they are too. Minimally, they've focused on real SEO.

At first glace, I would say they don't truly care about dominating the SERPs, as it's just one of their side hustle/multi income streams. I'm talking about companies like Home Depot, Lowes, Adobe, Best Buy, etc.

I forgot to factor in the time machine. Since I am the Google owner, I am the God. I would use the time machine and rollback the reality to year 2007.

Ha ha. Don't forget to allocate a seat for me along with you when you start your journey.

Oh, you are so generous as the G CEO. Just like me with my idea to teleport us into year 2007.

If I was the owner of Google...
Well, first of all, I'd recognize the amazing opportunity I have to fix problems like monopolization and winner-take-all tendencies of marketplaces.
For example, I'd realize that just by making search results more 'diverse' (I know that word has been done to death but it's quite applicable here), I could drastically improve the quality of the internet - - for example, not every commercial and transactional search has to be full of amazon.com links, and not every search in general has to just be a basket of high authority sites and garbage like pinterest.com.
This would incentivize more people to work on their own websites instead of being reliant on amazon or social media sites for traffic.
Second, I'd stick to my lane - - I'd acknowledge the fact that there are a few things Google is really good at, and perhaps self-driving cars isn't one of them. Instead of putting so many of my resources into creating a technology that solves no real problems and all that self-driving cars ultimately do is create mass-unemployment (the real issue is to reduce the number of cars on the road, or make cars more fuel efficient, or improve public transit systems to decongest roadways, all of which are better problems to work on than automating away labour).
Third, I'd stay the fuck away from politics. In fact, I'd experiment with deindexing any and all political content, because political content, no matter what 'camp' its in, has been a major contributor to ruining the internet over the past 7-8 years.
Lastly, I'd put a lot more work into detecting and deindexing AI generated content. (This is funny for me to say, since I'm learning how to create AI generated content haha - - but I do believe that AI spam has a net negative effect on the internet, and too much of it makes users cynical of things like google search, and they gravitate to sites like reddit.com instead, which isn't necessarily a desirable thing. The only reason I feel I have to learn and use AI spam is it has become a prisoners dilemna, if I don't do it, someone else will) AI content doesn't really benefit anyone, and the current model of ranking content (where you stuff as many entities as possible into an article, so "Which dog food should I buy" has a subheading called "what is a dog") is really quite unbearable, and although it makes it easier for Google's AI to classify content, it just makes the reading experience excruciating for humans.
