What would you do with it? Basically, I've got a bit of doe I've been saving up for awhile and I am looking to get my feet in the door with IM. Obviously, there are cheaper alternatives to getting started, but if you had a lot of money to spend on getting started, knowing what you know now, where would you invest it?

I've been thinking of buying a website on Flippa that has not been monetized or had any SEO done. I would then buy a WSO for an SEO service to get my website some traffic and market click bank products, use adsense, amazon products, etc.

To summarize: You want to get into IM'ing, you have $15,000. What do you spend money on to get going...

    Thanks

IM is not something which will just work because you throw money at it. Try making money with little money at first, before investing.

Put it in your savings, and find time to do some research.
Because its not that simple getting targeted traffic and you will end up losing your investment.

I would start trying methods and twists, see what fits me best, see what can make me money, and use that 15k to scale up once I've found something that works.

Put $14,800 of it in a good savings scheme, there are plenty places in the UK that will give you 3% interest. That's about $450 interest in the first year which is more than most newbies make in their first year. With the remaining $200 you can get started with IM as a hobby at first, with this cash you can buy the basics like domains, hosting etc. and possibly one or two tools.

Start small and experiment, if something is working for you then you can scale it up.

Where investment capital comes in handy is say you've found a "sweet spot" where Adverts you've placed are converting well on an Offer to take them to - such that it covers the cost of the Advert and makes a nice profit. Here you can use your capital to quickly ramp up the amount of Ads you can place and therefore your conversions. If you had to wait to build working-capital it might take you weeks or months to get the first money in.

Good luck and happy marketing in 2013!

Get a few authority sites going, invest in people to manage it for a year if you don't want to do any work, sell the site for 3-4x as much as your initial investment. As far as what you should make your site about, I'd say invest 6 months studying trends, SEO, IM tactics, etc. and figure it out.

It's not all about the money you invest in, but more-so the time. There are some great books out there, invest in those.

    rodrigo_rb90,

You can get started in IM with literally *nothing*, the primary investment is time and the more time you put in the more successful you'll be. Sadly there is no single "magic method" because if there was it would stop working when everyone else did exactly the same thing. IM is all about trying different things, experimenting, if something isn't working move on to the next thing.

Save $14000 in a bank or invest it in a business. Budget yourself to $1000 for IM and get things started from there. IM isn't one of those fields where you can splash money and expect a quick return. It takes a very, very long time and a lot of research\testing to become successful. Put it this way - it's more about the determination and wit, not about your initial capital, albeit it does help in some ways.

Just start reading first and understand what you're doing or else just fire up the $15.000 to keep you warm during the winter.

You need to understand what you are doing before you can invest people tell you I would find a method and then scale up but they say that because they have the knowledge to do that.

Read and after ~3 months you will exactly know where you can invest the money.

    Just my 2 cents

I would build a few applications with it for facebook or iphone/android. I would do a lot of market research first before I built anything.

There were couple of similar threads started in the last fortnight. I would invest the money. Maybe, set it for a fixed deposit, so that I don't end up wasting the amount.

    Cheers :)

You do need to be careful because you could easily blow all of that money and achieve nothing.

But, personally I would probably buy 5 or 10 authority sites (or maybe build them myself), set a small monthly budget to promote them (maybe 50$ each or less) and then set aside a wage for myself for 12 months - that way you have a good start, but also have a full year to make it work (obviously lots of effort would need adding to the mix).

Out of those 15k just start with 1k and invest in building sites by outsourcing content and SEO. Once those sites start making a bit invest more and duplicate. Dont spend all of it together if you don't know nothing. If you are a newbie I guess you should read and learn first

First rule of IM, never purchase a WSO.
Second rule, Always use Blackhatworld BST section for SEO services.
Third rule, see the cash rolling in and keep counting!

Skip SEO and go straight into paid traffic. Learn PPC, media buys and similar things. Spend some money to get used to it and find a winning campaign then put the rest into funding the winning campaign. Get paid, scale and repeat.

I'd try to get some knowledge/experience in IM first before making such an investment to ensure I know exactly what I'm doing so I don't end up wasting any money. Maybe spend a small portion at first to get started.
