Anyone knows? I told them that each domain need to have it's own IP and they said it's not a valid reason. Should I tell them that my client want unique IP? Some says that I can have extra IPs if I have SSL. What the hell is SSL? Why would I want want?
They're for ecommerce sites and need https Oh, you don't know what SSL is. Wikipedia exists. Find another VPS that care about customer service
Tell them you need to host multiple ecommerce websites with SSL certificate installed on each thats it, they will understand it and won't ask anymore questions
"I need a separate IP for each of my domains as I need to have SSL certificate for each of them" should be enough. However, since you already asked them and they declined, they will get suspicious.
Switch providers to someone who does not hassle you every time and tell them it is for eCommerce websites that need SSL certificates.
Such as? Any provider won't hassle me? Fdc serer will hassle me. Wired tree does too. Thank you for reaching out to us here in Sales this morning. We don't specifically assign IPs from a different C class. We could provide you with an additional IP but you would need a valid form of technical justification. May I ask why he is asking for the IP? Actually what kind of technical justifications are allowed? Anyone got list?
You got the answer already. SSL CERTIFICATES!!! Tell them you need it for multiple sites where you sell things. And you need a SSL CERTIFICATE for them. I think your registrar sells you the SSL Certificate !
Great advise, find a hosting service that will work with you. Never had any hassles getting additional IPs but then again never asked for more than a few. While my experience with web hosts is limited I have noticed that the the services that are heavy with rules are light on customer service.
If your VPS wont sell you more Ip addresses simply because you ask for them then get a new vps. The company I work with will sell me as many as I want simply because i ask for them. I also get different blocks. You need to search and find a less main stream vps that cares more about there customers. PRO HINT: Offshore VPS is usually your best bet. My offshore vps even has USA Ip addresses some how. I do not ask questions. And they dont complain that I send 11 million emails a day. So yeah offshore will let you do alot more without bugging the shit out of you and asking stupid questions.
