First let me say this before I get beat up over it. I'm not looking for methods at all. I don't want to know how you profit off of myspace and other social network sites. What I want to know is if you owned myspace. How would you make it better and more profitable.

My real name is not Tom

If I owned Myspace I'd sell it and go on even more of a vacation than my life already is.

I would sell it and spend the rest of my life traveling with my family. I'd let somebody else figure out how to make it better.

LMAO I should have known better then to even ask this. o.k let's pretend you aren't going to spam the shit out of your own site. I meant how would you make it better and more profitable. Basicly I like my space better then facebook from a user perspective and marketing also. How could you make a site better then myspace and generate more money. If you had the traffic.

That's a pretty big question. Myspace has many employees that have been doing their jobs for a very long time and have come up with the best methods they can and it has been their main focus.

Personally, I think if you have the traffic of myspace you would let others advertise on your site. There's not too much you could do aside from placing advertisements because if you start charging the traffic to do certain things then you're going to destroy the traffic.

You really think Tom is doing anything? That's the convenience of owning something that large.. you don't have to do anything.

It would be stupid to sell it for a large one-time sum of cash when you can just keep raking in the money year after year.

Personally, I would make it so people can stalk other people easier and make the status updates more like Facebook because for some reason that's why every one likes that website.

Good point. Twitter and facebook are up to the minute info on what you are doing right NOW.

Could always sell it to Google for XX billion dollars. They buy everything. 10 years they'll own the world.

Tom doesn't own myspace anymore, rupert murdoch does.

Tom actually built myspace up spamming the internet with all kinds of crap.

Myspace is pretty good at advertising, and they have a nice setup, but the reason their losing rankings in alexa(11th now with youtube at 4th and facebook at 2nd) is because of their nazi attitude towards their users(customers). They have all kinds of ways of stopping spam that violates their users communications... if you look in myspace forums you see there is always complaints and its usually because of some security measure they haven't worked the glitches out of.
