And in big fish.. I mean client ;)

One of the companies I co-owner with nailed a very large fish. A fish that has a projected gross of $250,000/mo in 4-6 months. We have secured exclusive rights to be their main marketing company. We are currently coming up with a strategy to massively increase their online presence, but my question is:

If you nailed a big fish, how you would try to generate mass amounts of traffic in only 2-3 months of time? Virtually everything is on the table.

Crazy how some of you people get clients when you have no plan what so ever.

Well it depends on the product...? What kind of company is it and what kind of product do they sell?

I did not say we had no plan what we are doing, I said we were coming up with a strategy for the new client. Like we do for all clients... do you not create projections and strategies for your clients?

I can't divulge what kind of company it is, we have signed a confidentiality report, but that doesn't matter. I was just curious what everyone else would do in this situation. A food for thought type of thing :)

It all greatly depends on the industry that you are marketing too.

First analyze their ideal market, identify where those people spend the most time on the internet and track down how you could get the subsequent eyeballs.

Think viral as well, try and come up with campaigns where people WANT to share the word about the company that you are working with. It'll make your life a hell of a lot easier and the company will truly understand what an asset you are to their company with these "out of the box" ideas.

Sorry for the vague answer but without knowing the market its tough to give you advice.

I agree with superlinks- lots of Market research, find their audience where they browse, what they like etc.

Build a multi pronged campaign covering all exits as it were -

Prominent Site advertising (for targeted traffic) and exposure.

High quality (really high quality) backlink campaign to target organic search movement (I recommend text-link-ads).

Adwords campaign to target keywords unobtainable organically.

Viral/social marketing campaign - come up with some deals, competitions etc -high design big impact un-missable deals to get everyone talking about the product/service/company.

Sorry if that sounds rough, I'm not practised in that area, but that's roughly what I would do :)

I think a VERY well done press release distributed properly would be effective for any company. Back that up with smaller news releases and then hit the social media route.

This would prompt others to blog/share the releases with others and the cycle continues as in FaceBook likes, Twitter Feeds, and G's +1.

Don't forget to wiz-bank their site and generate an opt-in list for news announcements. :)

you should let us know more about the client. What does he offer services, home equipment?.

What I would do is facebook / twiiter/youtube/linkedin pages
I would submit huge amount of articles for the targeted keywords
    Couple press releases a week.
    Adwords

Depending on the goal radio/tv ads

Great stuff, and thank you very much to the ones I chatted with on Skype. Some excellent ideas, very outside the box. Truly appreciated!

I'd see a psychiatrist and find out why I want to have sex with fish to begin with ;)

Sorry, my adolescent mind goes nuts when it sees topic titles like this :D

Care to share some of those "out of the box" ideas? It's fine if you don't want to, but there's no harm in asking now is there? ;)
