If you have the $79 a month, is Ahrefs the Best Use for It?

I've been looking at expired domains to build my own blog network. In trying to find the best domains with high PR that I can, I've been trying various tools to look at the backlinks. I have scrapebox, and free subscriptions to Ahrefs and OpenSiteExplorer. I also have the SEO Spyglass Suite.

SEO Spyglass does a great job of finding the backlinks, but it can take hours to get all the backlink factors. This doesn't work well when you want to look and find the best domains quickly. A database backlink service seems like the way to go.

Ahrefs seems to quickly provide what you need in the sense that you can only see a few of the BLs in the free report, but they are ranked by domain/page authority so you can find the links that are giving the high PR.

I've tried using Moz, and Majestic, the free versions too and I don't find them as easy to navigate as ahrefs. Majestic is cheaper than ahrefs, the first paid level is $49 versus $79 for ahrefs.

I am trying to figure out if I upgrade to the first paid level with one of these services, and assuming my time is valuable, will I find that I've spent the money wisely? Also, is my sense that ahrefs is easier to use shared by others, or should I make the effort to learn to use Majestic or Moz?

Why not do a group buy with some of your buddies. I get Ahrefs for $7.70 every month.

For around $8 its well worth it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't aware you could get ahrefs through a group buy. I have seen other services offered on BHW in group buy deals, but not this one. If anyone here is offering a deal like that, I would be interested. Please PM me.

Sure. I hope this won't get me in trouble, but one of the best discussions of this SEO hosting issue that I have found is in this thread on another site:

    Code:

In summary, SEO hosting services are crap, the best method is to get a collection of hosting accounts and distribute your sites. Posters suggest simple shared hosting accounts. My thought was to get lots of different VPS accounts as I can't stand crappy shared hosting like I used to have with Hostgator.

Most of my sites would run on simple shared hosting plans just fine. I looked into doing this in 2009 but failed at it. If you manage to get together a list of 60 places to get cheap shared hosting will you let me know?

Have you tried SEO Spyglass? It's essentially 90% cheaper than Ahrefs.

I am not sure you read my post:

OK. I am always ready to learn. What use of $79 a month would be better than an ahrefs subscription?
