If you had 10k to spend on a large, QUALITY-oriented website&blog that is in a LARGE niche, how would you spend it?

How much would you spend on design?

What SEO tools/programs would you buy?

What services would you pay for?

    etc. etc.

Its not about hoe much you can spend especially when you are starting out but about learning, researching and then taking action. You could spend $10k and lose it all.

If you learn how to build websites yourself, do seo yourself, learn how to use various tools, keyword research and writing articles and get some tools then you wold not even spend $1k to get started.

Also if you pay others to do everything then each time you want to make a small change you need to contact them and pay extra.

Dont invest 10k in a site.

Keep half for something in the offline world (Brick and mortar investment or something)

And spend the other half on SEO tools and a microniche websites then use the SEO tools on the sites to rank them and make money :)

Well, I'm already decently experienced with SEO and creating smaller blogs to promote affiliate products...but this isn't how I want to make my money. I'm trying to make a HUGE website that has a ton of unique content. I'm talking hundreds of pages worth of unique articles, interviews, reviews, etc. The income would be based off affiliate products, adsense, amazon products, and future businesses/products I will create that will be integrated within this original site...

I like that idea, definitly going to invest some of it into stocks/mutual funds, as my career path is investment banking anyway...

I'm not too versed on these "microniche" websites that you just mentioned. I have noticed a lot of thread topics are about microniches as of late. Are these just smaller blogs targetting a specific microniche to promote an affiliate product/CPA offer?

i would spend it on viral marketing campaigns which could get me a few links from the AUTHORITY and the MOST TRUSTED sites. With 10k, i believe that is probable.

Well since you are not sure yet, you can invest about half of it on a website making revenue and getting a decent amount of traffic, and then just do proper SEO and try to do some changes on the site (ie different placement of adsense) So you might earn more, and then after it is making more, you could flip it on Flippa.com.

Another suggestion is first buy a micro niche site (there are couple of services on BHW, it will cost you about $35) then buy up a few good SEO Tools (be sure what you are buying) and then try to rank the micro niche site, keep building backlinks daily even if you are ranked no.1 for your main keyword, then you would be getting some money in daily, then sell it on Flippa.com , micro niche sites do tend to sell very well on Flippa, 8x-18x the monthly earning (depending on earning history etc), then after the deal was done just sell some SEO Services to the buyer of your site.

Now what you can do once you sold that micro niche site, buy up 5-10 and then do SEO to all of them, get them all ranked no.1 on Google, and sell them each 1 by 1, but you might even try to keep 2-3 for yourself so you have sites with earning history, and they do tend to sell better on Flippa.

This does not require full 10k investment but still a good way to earn some decent money.

I don't know if you're newbie or not, but if yes, never never never spend money before you feel that you need to spend this money.
I would say, never ask about where/how to spend money.
    Idem for softwares to buy...
When people said : "I'm new, I've $500 to spend to start, what software do you recommend to buy ?".
    It's a bad start.

    But good luck ! :)

If you want to build a site which ranks for almost every keyword or phrase in your niche, gaining links from the most trusted sites in the world and getting links from authority sites in your niche are very important. If you get link bait service from a professional SEO company [or of course, you can do it yourself if you are confident enough that it will work out. Remember that there are some SEO companies that do really great at link bait ], they will research and do all the work for you to get out the link bait. But remember that nobody can guarantee you the link bait will work. All they can do is create the link bait based on the research done on your particular case + years of experience they have had.

Hope that helped. If you still are confused, google " link bait " and " link bait services ".

If I had to spend it on one site I would

1 - Buy a exact match domain with at least 50,000 searches a month (Exact searches) - I would spend around $3000-4000 on it.

2 - I would spend the rest on PRWeb and SEO to get the site to the first page of google.

I would start small and I would also try a few techniques out to test the waters and see what succeeds for me. If you can end up earning from a few different techniques, you can then start to rinse and repeat. Its all about duplication here and time management.

If you have that much money and you want to make an authority site then at least come up with an idea that hasn't been saturated yet. You say you want a large niche so for example don't invest it in webmaster blog or something. Do something that hasn't been done yet, and don't invest all of that. I'd rent a dedicated server, pay some writers, then SEO all your content. If I had that much I would maybe just buy Scrapebox like I already have and spend the rest outsourcing seo to fiverr.com.
