For a YouTube channel (record label) promoting music, how would you do it?

I'm thinking of paying big YouTubers small amounts to feature clips of my tracks on their videos (intros/outros), or something like that. Trying to get a bigger following.

    Any better ideas?

Ok. How would YouTube ads help me though? I mean...what type of videos would I advertise them on.

Find young talented musicians and advertise their songs via youtube PPC traffic.I'm sure this is the best method

Hire 100 people from various colleges for $10 each to sit outside in a busy grassy area and blast one of the songs for everyone to hear.

Start your channel so that others accept your ads in their channels!

Probably adwords with the right keywords but that can be expensive sometimes.

Paying YouTubers to place your ads seems like a good way to go but you need to those people aha.

    Good luck with that.

I'd say Adwords and probably hire some guys to go comment on music videos with links to your channel.
It might look spammy but hey,no publicity is bad publicity right?

$1,000 isn't much. I would increase the metrics on every video for social proof to start. So that's views, likes, comments, downloads, etc. across both YouTube and SoundCloud. You'll be able to look like a popular artists with well under $1,000. The difference between a video with 5,000 views and no activity and one with 120,000 views and lots of activity is enormous in terms of actually getting your stuff listened to.
